Yield
2
Ingredients
1 huge Beetroot, or 2 medium
1 small, sweet Apple
1/4" piece (1/2 - 1 t) fresh Ginger, or to taste
2 medium stalks Celery
2 small juicing Oranges, peeled
Recipe Directions
If the beetroot and apple are organic, no need to peel them. Push all ingredients through a juicer. Pour into a tall glass or two and enjoy.
Acacia's Thoughts
By AcaciaCame up with this juice when making pulp for a beetroot cake inspired by Artistruth. For me the sweetness is just right, not too sweet like pure fruit, and not bitter like green juices can be. Refrigerating the ingredients will make the juice come out chilled. Should begood for your liver too.

I don't have a juicer, so I wonder if this would taste good just as a smoothie?

I've been wondering about savoury smoothies myself... Carrot might be a good one to start experimenting with... Maybe celery as well... Could use apple for sweetness, like you would for juice... Could try cinnamon and/or ginger for spicier flavour... Raisins, sultanas or dates for sweetness... I'll post a basic green smoothie recipe as well, which are really good for you and your tastebuds!
