rawmazing.com - cool recipes and the woman is an amazing photographer
Thanks eecho! I'll check it out.
Shame it's not possible to find the top rated recipes on this site seeing as there are thousands!
No problem. I misread the original topic, thought it said "your favorite raw recipe site".
From this site, I like this carrot soup recipe. Its not necessarily my "favorite", but its one of my most frequented recipes because its simple, fast, and cheap.
This is a good topic . . . it used to be ofek's "Real Hummus" recipe, but that got lost during the Goneraw move of 2008 . . . now, I'd have to say it's a tie between the following:
Sweet english muffins: http://goneraw.com/node/3352
Hi-cake by Kate Wood: http://goneraw.com/node/2783
These are both brazil-nut based, and overdoing it on brazil nuts can lead to selenium toxicity (don't ask me how I know), so I don't recommend making either recipe more than once in a while.
I'm about to try the carrot soup recipe . . .
Oh god - almost impossible to choose just one!
It's probably the buckwheat porridge: http://goneraw.com/recipe/buckwheat-porridge
Truely amazing!
The cinnamon rolls, carrot crackers and cheese with spring onions are also worth a shout out though.
Thanks so much! I'm glad I found the Hi-Cake one.
Bummed I missed out on the hummus recipe, I've been trying to get a raw hummus for years!
:)
p.s. the carrot soup sounds awesome!
I make hummus with zucchini and it is really good. I often use the cores leftover from spiralizing. Then I add sesame seeds or tahini, cumin, lime juice, olive oil, and a pinch of salt. It works well. If I'm using whole zucchini, I peel it, grate it and lightly salt it and leave it in a collander for a little while. A lot of the water will drip out, then I squeeze out as much as I can. You can also add a little red bell pepper for a different flavor. I used to add a bit of garlic, but now raw garlic bothers my stomach. Sometimes I add a pinch of cayenne too.
The Butternut Ambrosia Salad
Hands down - this salad! EVERYONE loves this - new converts to raw, SAD people, non vegans. I make it often as it is one of my personal favorites. I hope others will try this - it is truly wonderful, especially if you enjoy Asian flavoring!
Thanks for the hummus recipe, I find garlic a bit too much for me these days.
Thanks nancy, I'll check it out! :)
Ofek's Real Hummus: BlueDolfin found it 'lost in cyberspace' and posted it here http://www.goneraw.com/forum/recipes-lost-cyberspace... scroll down for recipe- cheers :)
