Gone Raw, Work in Progress

So if you haven't noticed already, my "hand was forced" and we have a new "look" to the website. Doh!!!
I apologize for no warning or preparation, but here we are. There was a technical glitch, and it turns out it was easier for me to just go with the flow and roll out the new look, even though it's not quite finished yet. So have a look around, and let us know what you think. There are a lot of rough edges, and many parts aren't even there yet, but it's a start!
We'd love to hear what you think, and we'll be working hard as time permits to get it cleaned up.

1. I really enjoy the rotating
I really enjoy the rotating photos of the dishes. I hope that will be part of the new site as well.

2. We'll definitely bring images
We'll definitely bring images back to the home page. We're torn between bringing back the rotating images or adding something like the multiple images we have over at http://gonevegan.com/. Anyone have an opinion?

While I liked a lot about the "old" GoneRaw site, I do like the front page of the GoneVegan site--and its multiple images.
But the new look, even if unfinished, is really nice--good job, you guys!

Thumbs up from me too...... Like the way the recipes appear now and the links to similar recipes works well for me too!

Don't know if it's on here already, or if its possible to add it, but I used to really like finding a recipe I liked and then looking up the author and checking out the other recipes they had posted under their profile.... eg poemmom's recipes were all there under her name, ditto Ofek's amazing recipes, Zoe's, yours etc
It meant I only had to remember the name of the author.

5. I like both the multiple
I like both the multiple images and rotating images. However, I recommend to randomize the first ones that show up, rather than having the same ones every time I visit the website.
If you go with multiple images... I would recommend to add "forward/back" arrows to scroll/pan across to see more pictures.

I Just wanted to say what a great job you are doing with the site. Gone Raw is a great resource that I use frequently. I know that creating such a site takes a lot of time and energy and I thank you very much for it!

Mopoke, the author profile page is high on our list of fixes. We do plan on bringing back a list of each author's recipes on their page.

9. I'm fixing lots of
I'm fixing lots of long-standing issues while I'm at it.
You have lots of search tweaking options, in the right sidebar, which now work properly.
The main Recipe page lets you sort by clicking on the column headers. You can for example see the oldest recipes first, or the newest, or the highest rated, or the lowest, or sort by author or title, and so on.
The performance is much better, and I'm trying to get us rated better in search engines so more visitors will hang out. I'm having some problems with the style still, and the fonts have gone a bit pear-shaped, but I'm working on that.
Still have to sort out the big to-do items, like the profile page requests, and some recipe features. After that, we'll be talking about adding some new (also long-requested) features. More on that later this week, I expect.
