My boyfriend and I just made this and it's good! We added an extra tablesspoon of oil and It was a little plain so we had to add the raw honey :) Can't wait to have banana and peanut butter! Thanks for the recipe - I had no idea how EASY it was to make a nut butter!

I'm not sure which one I have, I actually bought it used and haven't given much attention to what type it is! Whatever kind it is it's pretty basic, just one button! If you have a Vitamix type blender you can use that as well, but I don't think a regular blender could handle it... And as far as I know that's how you make nut butters with any nut, only some nuts need more or less oil as you blend them.

Just thought I would add that I have started using flax oil instead of peanut oil - I don't think it affects the taste much but I like it because I can get more Omega-3 and less saturated fat that way (not by much, but hey, it helps!).

I really miss eating apples and peanut butter:) Thanks for the recipe and tip about adding spices and flavors. Im a bit simple and would have never thought to do that myself :P
I think the idea for most people should be to to avoid the alphatoxins that are found in peanuts (raw or not). I splruged and bought a bag of the raw jungle peanuts, that claim to be a wild strain that is (virtually) alphatoxin free. I have made many yummy things with them : spicy peanut sauce, peanut butter ice cream, choc peanut butter cups, soaked- they taste like boiled peanuts! (for all my southern americans)...I really loved peanut butter before I started researching alphatoxins - so I am happy to have this flavor back in my diet!
p.s. this does look delicious though Khass:)

Can you follow the same process with other nuts and seeds to make raw nut butter??I guess a food processor is a must. Which one do you have?
