Raw Cauliflower Korma

Servings:
Served 1 hungry me, could do 2 with a side of something else

My first attempt at a raw curry which reminded me of the vegetable korma I used to have at my local indian restaurant – and it was really easy to make, took about 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

1 Small Carrot, Chopped
1 Small onion, chopped
2 tablespoon Water
2 tablespoon Mild curry powder
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 small red bell pepper
1 small handful cashew nuts
1 sprinkle turmeric
1 sprinkle cumin
1 clove garlic
½ head Cauliflower
¼ cup raisins
1 tomato, chopped
1 large date or 2 small

Preparation:

Put all ingrediants except the cauliflower and raisins in the blender and whizz at a high speed until combined, the mixture should be thick but run off the back of a spoon – add more water if required.
Curry Sauce complete.
Clean your blender and then whizz your cauliflower into smaller pieces, I did it so that they were smaller but not as small as cous cous – this is personal preference though, any size would work.
In a bowl add the cauliflower, the raisins and then mix in your curry sauce….
Eat! I had mine on romaine leaves rolled up which was really nice but you could serve it with other veg or some raw bread or crackers. Maybe a raw chapati?
Sorry there’s no pic, I’ll take one next time!

i bought cauliflower today and wanted an interesting raw way of doin' it, googled, and found this - excellent! i love that it didn't require too much effort, too. i added another carrot and more red pepper, and also added a raw red chili pepper and black pepper for heat. i also blended in fresh cilantro, which really adds to how fresh this tastes.

This was really good (though I added way to much onion for my taste - I forgot how much stronger they are when raw!) and I'll definitely make it again. So much quicker than "regular" Indian dishes when you cut out the cooking step - all you have to do is prep and blend. Thanks!

I tried this one today, my processor chopped the cauli and it looked just like white rice. The curry paste was delicious and the combination great, I added 2 dates and would propably add some sultanas and pine nuts to the cauli a bit of garnish - coconut on the paste would have been good also - delicious Well done. I have left-overs and I will enjoy them in a couple of days - the paste should 'mature' as well by then. Delicious

My first attempt at any curry. It didn't agree well with me (too spicy...the strong flavours just didn't settle well...), but it's a great way to get that bitter but nutritious raw cauliflower in and a way to try a bunch of new blends of spices.
I tried it over kelp noodles.
It almost looked like chili! Hmmm...a raw chili...you've inspired me! ^^

YUM this was SO good! I've made it twice already ;). I saved the cashews and added them at the end to give it some nice crunch. YUM-O!

I have never had Indian food, & I don't know what chapati is, but this sounds good.

Ooh I think it would be about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of each. I also forgot that I added a date to the sauce too... oops! I'll update the recipe!

This sounds just wonderful. Could you give me an idea of about how much the carrot and onion would measure....about a cup of each?.... or would that be too much?
