Since there aren’t many green foods that I can get my niece to consume, I decided to make her a green smoothie. If I had told her that I was giving her fruit with a green leafy vegetable, well, I’ll put it this way…she ain’t even tryin’ to hear it! So I made the drink and served it to her without her seeing what I was doing. The smoothie turned purple, so I gave it a fun name, which seems to work for children these days. Afterall, they do eat GREEN catchup, why not a purple smoothie called a purple dinosaur. I should’ve named it Barney, but I wasn’t sure how she’d like drinking a Barney…lol! Anyway, since mâche are so tender and have such a delicate flavor, the strawberries masked it very well, and I was able to add quite a bit. She asked no questions as to why it was purple. Perhaps she thought I added berries…ha ha ha. She just drank it then kept playing her video game. ;-) I’ll put up a photo the next time I make one.
NOTE: MEASUREMENTS ARE SET TO YOUR LIKING
NOTE: WHEN YOU ASK FOR MÂCHE IN THE STORE, IT IS PRONOUNCED Mosh. BUT SOME PRONOUNCE IT “Mah-shay” BUT I’M NOT SURE THAT’S CORRECT. Mâche is a baby lettuce. Romaine lettuce substitutes very well or you can use baby spinach.

RawDance...we think alike. My plan is to post a picture using a pretty cup and a cool straw (one of those curvy ones) . It's funny how the more fun something looks or sounds, the more appealing it becomes to children.
Carrie292...my neice is a sugar addict, that's the reason for the agave...lol! But at least it's healthier than the processed stuff ;-)

Awesome :) I bet my son would actually drink this! He loves to help me make my juice, but he never likes to drink it - i don't blame him on that one :) But, i think i'll try this one out on him minus the agave (just some extra strawberries)... Love the name!!!

I love the personality of this smoothie name!!! Please post a picture and include it here when you're able to! I want to see it in a cute cup. Ps. Love your little intro too. I'm so glad you are encouraging healthy eating and she is responding well!
