Cardamom Pear Cream Smoothie
This is my new favorite green smoothie. It is smooth & creamy, low fat and alkalizing. I add dehydrated shredded / desiccated coconut & chill for a beautiful pudding. You could probably add thick creamed coconut for a smooth pudding also, but I have not tried that yet. But I plan to!!! MMMmmmm
1 ripe green pear, roughly chopped
1 medjool date, pitted & chopped
2 teaspoon hulled hemp
seed
1 organic kale leaf, devined, or 1 medium conventially grown leaf
2 loose handfuls of baby spinach leaves
1 inch piece fresh vanilla bean, snipped in pieces
¼ teaspoon of ground cardamom
1 squeeze fresh lemon juice
- Add the chopped pear to the Vitamix first. Then add the rest of the ingredients.
- Add water until it reaches the top of the pears in the
Vitamix.
- Blend smooth without overdoing it, so that the pear does not oxidize

Thanks 123,
I did some searching on the net & found a really informative blog about goiterous foods. Wow ... they are way more than what I thought!!!! Thanks again for bringing this to my attention, I think you solved a huge issue I've been having. Yey, now I can fix it and start feeling much better.
I'm going to post a link to the blog I read in the forum so that everyone can take a look.

Pears.

This looks incredibly yummy! 123, what is the 3rd ingredient that can effect thyroid? I assume the kale and spinach are two. Thanks!

It also contains three goitrogenous elements, kale, spinach and pears. I wouldn't drink this daily if thyroiditis, hypo- or hyperthyroid is an issue. It sounds like it tastes good though.
