How Alkaline are you?
How Alkaline are you?
I would be interested to hear if anybody has done a test though and DOES show a lower PH level. Anybody do both saliva and urine?
Having transitioned BACK into Gabriel Cousens’ Phase 1 foods from raw everything and experiencing some raw slumping after 2.5 years raw, I can say these stage 1 foods are ALL alkaline. I don’t test. i just go by how I feel and i literally feel like I’m starting over again, I bet I’ll see detoxing this week in a major way. I’m going to try and send the list. I’m not terribly experienced at sending links so let me know if it doesn’t work. it’s VERY different from the list above. http://treeoflife.nu/files/Summary_of_Rainbow_G…
Thanks for the link Izhpt! It worked.
Ya know what’s interesting? In Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko, she said that for 10 years her family was raw, and during much of that time their health improved.. but then it stopped improving. She did pH testing during much of this time, and always was acidic – despite how many greens she ate. By introducing green smoothies, she was able to have an alkaline pH! She tests every day, using those pH strips.
This is VERY important for cancer prevention, health etc to have the right pH – i’m surprised more raw foodies don’t test! But where do I get the strips?
Whole foods and most health food stores have the little roll of tape that you pee on.
The ph strips come on a roll, you can use them both for urine and saliva… Just tear off the recommended amount and then compare the color on the container… I bought mine from the same people I bought my Prill beads and dried raspberry seed… All their info is listed on the first couple of recipes on my profile… Not expensive and easy to use…
Thanks ya’ll! I’ll check my local coop market.
This sounds exciting to test. i’m just embarking on this slightly different take on raw and am always using my body as a vessel for experimentation (all in a good way). I like the objectivity this would provide. Thanks for the push, Winona.
I’ve been considering the test strips for some time, I’m hoping that this forum topic helps to nudge me to buy test strips and monitor my pH. It’s so important!
