Depends, each individual is different, as each one has a different state of health to begin with.
Some people get totally energised during fasting, others can’t get out of bed.
You’ll have to just try it and see how it goes.
Maybe a good idea to prepare well by eating light and 100% raw for the days, or weeks leading up to it. This may help the detox not be too strong. Then start with juice feasting then progress slowly into water, if you want to take it that far.
Personally, I would not do any exercise except some yoga maybe to help with the detox-yoga is a detoxifying exercise and generally doesn’t put strain on the body. I would treat the fast as a special deep cleansing time and allow my body to rest and get to work on cleaning, rather than give it something else to do, i.e. running.
Hi there,
You should definitely not exercise or even try to maintain a normal work/life schedule if you are truly fasting (on water only). You need to rest while you are fasting.
If you want to do a cleansing program that will allow you to do the things you normally do, a good program is to do a mono fruit cleanse. Just eat one type of fruit for a week or two. Bananas and grapes are popular for this. You might still feel tired and get some unpleasant detox symptoms, because you will be detoxing after all. But you should be able to carry on much more of a normal schedule this way.
Wishing you all the best,
Audrey
Hey Girly girl it definitly depends on the fast and of course your body. When I fasted the first few days I was exhausted and didn’t want to do any exercise so I listened to my body and didn’t. After those hard days, I had more energy and could go exercise as usual. My mom did the same fast and exercised every day but in the beginning because she didn’t exercised when her body didn’t want to exercise, she became faint, she almost passed out.
With all the information I read with water fasting it always says to stay in bed and that is the best advice but if your doing the master cleanse or juice feasting then take it easy until you start feeling really energetic. You will lose weight on a fast but how much I couldn’t tell you. I lost two pounds on my fast but I know people that lost ten pounds and more on the same fast.
I planted trees all once during a fast. I kept getting head rushes every time I stood up from bending down. It was actually really cool. but probably not a good thing to do. I would take it easy and see what your body tell you.
About wieght loss; I water fasted for 6 days once and lost 20 pounds and I was skinny before, 160 pounds ans 6 feet tall.
