AWWW NEW RAW FOODIST IN COLLEGE-FRESHMAN UCR

I wanted to know how the would work for me and would it be possible. I guess i should atleast state where I am going. I will be attending UC Riverside this summer and in the fall. I was wondering does anyone know if it is still possible to be a raw foodist while being on campus. I will not have a car to leave and get supples, but i do know I will be able to order some of the needed things like raw nuts and super foods. But what should I do about the fresh fruit and blender and dehydrator in a dorm? Help Please if you can.

  • Are you allowed to have a dehydrator and blender in the dorm? How about cafeteria food? Do they have a good salad bar and fresh fruit? I would think that it would be difficult living in the dorms and eating raw but not impossible.

I tried to eat vegan back when I was in the dorms but got too busy with friends, campus activities, parties and studying to keep it up. Eventually I resolved to eating a healthy well-rounded vegetarian diet. I would say you could try if you plan and prepare A LOT...but don't be too hard on yourself over it. After all you should enjoy college and dorm life as it is very short lived.

There are a few threads here with creative advice - none of which I can remember right now - try a search for "college" or "dorm."

Ive been reaserching this too because i will be going to college next year. From what ive read most colleges have salad bars and fresh fruit. You can perhaps get a mini fridge for your dorm to keep other goods like seeds/nuts if you want. If you can have the blender/appliances in the dorms I would reccomend getting a magic bullet because they are powerful but tiney. You can make alot with them. It will take some planning and preparation to make food, but ive seen kids take a blender in with them to the cafateria and just blend up fresh fruit/veggies right there on the spot. Hope i helped good luck!!
