Recipe Directions

1. Soak dates, raisins, and dried prunes in warm water for a few minutes.

2. Drain and add to food processor with the rest of the ingredients. Process until you have a sticky mass.

3. Take a spoonful of the mixture and drop into a tub with carob powder.

4. Turn truffles using a spoon until coated with carob. Then you can roll them gently into balls in your hand.

5. Place truffles in freezer and enjoy when you have a craving for chocolate.

Sweetpea's Thoughts

By sweetpea

Lovely, textured truffle with deep pink color and rich chocolate flavor.

Not too sweet.

I’ve cut one of the truffles open in the photo so you can see the gorgeous color.

Hi aimeerachelle, I used freshly milled oatmeal but ideally I would use raw oats and grind them into a powder. If you have oat groats, just grind them into a flour. That is why I've given an alternative ie ground nuts/seeds if you can tolerate them.

did you use oat groats? Could you grind the oat groats before soaking?

aimeerachelle, don't soak oat groats to use in this recipe. You need a dry flour such as ground oats or seeds/nuts to bind the mixture.

Delish! I got raspberries for 1/2 price and tried this with ground oat groats, third of each dates, raisins and GOJI berries. I didn't add any spices. OMG, delish! Thanks for sharing this recipe! :-)
