Yield
Makes 1 serving, but can easily be doubled or tripled to make many more
Ingredients
1 pear (cut into chunks)
1 dried Calimyrna fig
¼ vanilla bean or vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon
2 tablespoons water
Recipe Directions
1. Soak fig and vanilla bean in water for about 10-15 minutes just to soften.
2. Add the cut up pear to the blender and sprinkle with cinnamon to desired taste. I tend to use a good dash or two.
3. Add in the fig, 1/4 vanilla bean, and the soak water. I use a high speed blender so the vanilla bean isn’t a problem. If you have a regular blender, just scrape out the seeds--no need to soak.
4. Blend ‘er up until you get a nice “pudding” consistency. You may need to scrape the sides down halfway through and blend again. Can also be easily made in a food processor.
Coconutty's Thoughts
By coconuttyA wonderful and simple “pudding” or sauce that makes a great snack.
Great for breakfast or anytime of the day!
I enjoy eating mine slightly warm because I keep my fruit on the counter, but if you prefer it to be cold, just store your pears in the fridge or freezer.
Enjoy! I know I do!

Hmmmm, just might have to experiment with that one! Probably about 1/4 teaspoon. I wouldn't do more than 1/2 teaspoon. I never use the extract anymore because I can always taste the alcohol in it. I looove vanilla and with the beans I can add as much vanilla flavor as I want without having to worry about the alcohol aftertaste. Let me know how it goes with the extract! I hope it works for ya!
