New to Raw
I weigh 228 rite now and I am considering joining the navy and I have to be 163. I need to lose this in about size months and at least get to 175. I also want to get more energy so I can run ect. Is this possible with a raw vegan diet and how do I go about losing the weight. What to eat n stuff
I am just starting my raw transition, and I"m finding conflicting information about using oils and eating avocados. In particular, this doctor says all oils are bad for us
Can anyone comment, it seems likes lots of raw foodists and vegans eat avocados,and I thought Dean Ornish in his heart health books says they are good, but now I"m confused.
I tried making almond butter for the first time with my Vitamix yesterday and it didn't go too well. :( Even after the 1/4 cup canola oil that the recipe book suggests, it was more like an almond paste. I went ahead and refrigerated it, but even then, the excess oil that the recipe said to pour off, never appeared. Could it be that my almonds weren't oily enough, or could the fact that I freeze my nuts been part of the issue? I did let the nuts thaw before I put them in the Vita. Or am I just expecting the kind of almond butter that the Vitamix can't do?
