I have tried adding fruit to this but it is not as good as the basic version it tends to give it a smoothy flavor instead of milkshake. I like to experiment with the spices though, one of my favs is pumpkin pie spice and apple pie spice. This recipe is so amazing, I hadn’t had anything even close to ice cream until I tried this. When we got a vitamix finally, how did I ever live without one, I started adding kale to smoothies, then thought about a good green juice, this is a great green juice but still has the fiber and it keeps you full. I don’t feel it wastes so much of the veggies like juicing but a vitamix still breaks the cell wall so you can get all the vitamins/minerals.
Looks and tastes like… Tang! No kidding. Don’t get it on your clothes.
For extra zing, add the ginger.
For more of a creamy smoothie, add the banana.
