Easy Recipes
This is heavenly – what could be better than ice cream for breakfast?
this topping adheres to whatever you sprinkle it over. it’s creamy and slightly salty. i got this idea from one of the many books i peruse at barnes and noble, so i can’t remember who to credit.
I was attempting to make Real Hummus, but I screwed up the sesame seeds and ended up making sesame mylk. I was thinking of what I could do with the chickpeas and that it how I came up with this. It’s a nice snack—a good potato chip or popcorn replacement.
I adore arugula, and use it in salads often. I threw this together tonight, and for some reason it turned out more amazing than usual—(maybe it was the pinenut/coconut vinegar combination), so I thought I’d share! I just eyeballed the ingredient amounts, so adust it however!
I personally think that this mimicks the texture of tuna better than any other recipe. I love it so much that it’s my tuna replacement even when I’m not eating raw. Really, the only part of this that’s my own idea is grating the jicama, the rest is up to you. I like it on its own or on a slice of manna bread.
Orangey and deluctable…your Highnesses will most certainly enjoy a shot of power for a fantastic day of reigning.
This is a great bread, and the best part is that it is in the spirit of reuse & recycle!
If you make rejuvalac, you typically use 1 cup dry soft wheat berries, which yields about 4 cups sprouted berries. Why throw them away? Instead, mix them up with any veggies and whatever spices you want! This version fills the house with a wonderful smell of Jalapeno and cheese! Yummy!
This is a pretty simple recipe… it’s so simple I almost feel like I’m wronging you by calling it a recipe. I had the spices around the house and always have flax seed. + I LOVE avocados. This Avocado-Flax love concoction idea sprouted after I found this simple-flaxy-love idea: http://www.goneraw.com/recipes/3593-easy-flax-grated-cheese-
Enjoy! :)
These are really small, two-bites pizzas that are fresh and yummy. I only made 8 using a small zuchini, but just increase the other ingredients to your preference. I also experimented with sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and a little salt/pepper but I prefered the simple pizzas best. Enjoy!
this ice cream has won the hearts of my friends and family who would have never consider eating raw foods before ! so good!!!!
Delicious! This recipe has more of a milk chocolate taste.
This is actually a salad dressing, but I love it as a sauce or a sandwich spread. I make it all the time to put on top of falafels.
It is taken from Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine by Gabriel Cousens, MD.
This is a nice, banana-less drink that seriously tastes like buttermilk (oh, sweet memories), only green! Add a lot of almond milk to thin, because it’ll seriously make you think you’re drinking something “milky”, not a thick green shake. A very refreshing change. Enjoy!
its that time of the year.. this is a great treat for kids and adult for the 4th of July celebrations
For those who love hemp and for those you would like a super healthy nutritious snack!
These sweet, summery ingredients make for a perfect light lunch or dinner!
I was inspired to create a this recipe after a discussion of this wonderful root in a forum discussion. Thanks for the challenge!
This is a heavenly sweet and creamy smoothie for hot summer days.
My first green smoothie recipe to make! Very yummy and energizing. My favorite fruit smoothie was always Strawberry Banana with a bit of orange, so I added the spinach and it was a winner! This smoothie keeps well overnight in the fridge for a great ‘to go’ breakfast.
This recipe really surprised me. It came out super thick and rich without being too strong of one flavor. I was definately craving my boyfriend’s box of Reese’s Puffs and after making this, I have absolutely no clue what I was thinking! Don’t be naughty and eat unraw! Eat this instead!
This is one of my favorite things to eat. When I started going raw, I was so glad that I could still have this. I don’t know what is so great about it, the taste(although not the ideal food combining :) combinations are just so good to me.
So easy to make and sooooo tasty!
This is a simple side dish you’ll love making. It’s very tasty, I hope you enjoy it.
Raw, vegan dashi stock – the basis for many Japanese dishes.
This was posted on vegsorce.com by silverfire. I have added the vanilla and cinnamon to it.
For those looking to substitute the use of agave and/or maple syrup. I was not aware of how much we are effecting the bat population by our use of agave, until recently. It is the main food source for nectar bats. Victoria J. has posted a thread about Agave Nectar and Bat Populations.
Adapted from Carol Alts Raw 50. This awesome vanilla base is great for any malt/shake fruits!
Yea, i know its a silly name. but i thought it fit hehe :). this a very delicious and nutritious drink that u=i have every morning before i eat anything solid including smoothies.
I was experimenting today and came up with this.
For some extra sweetness, feel free to add a few squirts of agave!
inspired by my kitchen visitor this morning who was nice enough to pose for the picture
Raw cookies for a sweet treat!
A creamy, sweet, tangy, complex tasting salad with no nuts or added oil. Fava Beans are in season right now, but not for much longer!
Like the classic only Raw and still just as good!
[This may be a horrible/dumb idea—but I liked it]
A tangy apple/raisin salad with lemon/lime as a sort of ‘dressing’.
Another Israeli salad – I love the za’atar spices! They’re so different from anything you’ll have anywhere else.
This is my hemp-ified version of a classic. Hemp provides the perfect base for this pesto. It has a slightly nutty and green taste, which compliments the cucumber and the greens as well as, well, everything else in the recipe! Hemp hearts are a great source of Omega fatty acids and easy to assimilate proteins. So, eat up!
This is my favorite crust that can be used for so much. I usually use it for pizza, but if taken out while still flexible, it can be used as a spicy wrap or tortilla. If you aren’t a big fan of hot foods, cut back to 1/2 jalepeno pepper and 1/4 tablespoon of cayenne pepper.
You can also thinely slice tomatoes and/or mushrooms and press them into the dough so it dehydrates at the same time. A bell pepper might be nice if you’re aiming for a more fijita-type crust.
I’ll have a picture as soon as I can grab my sister’s camera. ;)
I used to love grilled portabella mushroom burgers so here is my raw version. Traditionally these burgers are served with cheese and some type of sause so I’ll bet you could make raw versions of those. I opted to leave them out.
This is the EASIEST most SIMPLE oatmeal. However it is supper filling and warm. Whenever I’m craving bread and warmth, I make this. It takes about 2 mins to make.
delicious herb spread, great for bell peppers and raw crackers!
Remember making Cornflake cakes when you were a kid? Make them again!
I have used dehydrated slices of bananas to resemble Cornflakes and mixed them with raw chocolate to make a raw version of Cornflake cakes.
Super easy to make and fun. Someone gets to lick the bowl afterwards!
It’s good for kids to help with. They can lay the banana on the dehydrator, crush up the dehydrated slices, help melt the chocolate, mix it all up and spoon the mixture into the cake cups.
These cakes are great for parties.
Olives are disgusting straight off the tree. Commercially they are cured using lye, eg. caustic soda, which neutralizes the bitter taste. After which they are pasteurized. I prefer to do it with water and keep them raw.
This recipe originally called for tequila to be mixed with the lime-juice, but it is just as good without. It’s a good dish to serve at a party, and kids seem to like it too.
For the chili powder, I left the amount blank, because it really depends on the type you are using and your personal “spicy” preference. I use chipotle chili powder (not technically raw), and usually put around 1/2 tsp.
Refreshing and yummy!
Indulge’s recipe from GLiving.tv. Super yummo!
i love eating greens in every possible way. however sometimes i’m just not in the mood for the regular green smoothie – give me some texture!! i’m not a baby!
A raw version of Tabouli, replacing the bulgur wheat with buckwheat sprouts.
Whether you’re very busy and in or a rush, or a poor college kid who can’t afford a decadent dessert, or just new to raw foods and are still hungry after a salad (or all three!), this is the snack/dessert for you. It’s simple and sweet. I got this recipe from my sister. It’s a lot like elizabeth’s “Chewy Banana Oaties” but without the oaties…
This is Karen Knowler’s recipe : http://karenknowler.typepad.com
But i wanted to share it because its the perfect pudding (or breakfast!) for the summer, as its made totally out of fruit! And it doesnt need added sweetner(s)! Plus It’s quick, easy, healthy and delicious!
You can use this mix as a pate, spread, rissoles, burgers or a wrap filling.
I made this tonight as a dessert and it was amazing! I got David Wolfe’s raw cocao beans at our local healthfood store, but I know you can buy them on-line too. Even though not state, of course the raisins and coconut are raw and organic too. To make date syrup, just blend dates and water. Agave would taste good too, but is not easy to find in a truly raw state.
This is a really easy granola that reminds me of fall. I’m a big fan of cinnamon and so this satisfies my sweet tooth and is helpin’ me out with nutrients, too! I get two SAD people with one nut! hehe. I crack myself up. ;P
But it does make your house smell pretty good.
Brazil nuts, lettuce and tomatoes in a creamy cashew sauce (mayo?).
Another throw together (I gotta get organized), that came out quite good. The nuts are not soaked, but I will be tweaking the recipe from time to time
A great sauce to try if you want to transition to raw but not ready to go all the way yet. It can also help get rid of some celery hiding in the fridge. Not 100% raw but it can be modified to be 100%.
These are delicious….you’ll love them. It’s actually an adopted recipe of my mom’s SAD granola bars.
What a delicious treat! And what a fun and festive delight to serve at parties, especially in place of cupcakes for kids!
I was in the mood for something light and tasty that would use ingredients I already had in the house. Very little prep time and easy, easy, easy. Chill for a couple of hours for a great summer treat.
Inspired by a blueberry-lemon tart smoothie recipe I saw on here! The lemon makes this sooooooooo wonderfully yummy!!! The blueberries make it set up, or you can eat it immediately & it will be more like a pudding. The picture was taken before it was completely set.
A nice refreshing pick me up with a ginger citrus like zing. Very healthy, provides lots of antioxidants and omegas!
make your own by mimicking nature! no more little expensive jars from raw capitalists… transported from far far away.. i mean olives are staple food around here.. you can’t buy a little jar – olives are bulk only! so here’s how to make your own sun dried salt-free most delicious richly flavored pure olives…
A friend of ours made a cooked version of this dish and we really loved it, so we made a raw version of it. This recipe is best made with thin zoodles, but if you don’t have a spirooli, you can use julienned zucchini. The mint must be fresh.
Optional: Cilantro. I think it tastes better without it or with a couple tablespoons.
Optional: Peanuts. I usually make mine without nuts.
For when you’re craving something sweet…
“we” hold the record for the biggest tabbouleh (تبولة) ever right here in palestine! and look how green it is! not all traditional civilized foods are from hell… and you know what? this recipe is not only traditionally high in raw ingredients, it is also very green, and… it is eaten with whole fresh romaine leaves!
Great way to get rid of those summer cucumbers and a twist on the traditional recipe.
Our favorite salsa. It keeps well in the fridge, so I usually make a double or triple batch to keep everyone happy for a week at a time.
This is also really tasty if you add half a cup of this salsa to half an avocado and mash it all together. Serve with crackers/chips or veggie sticks.
PLEASE NOTE: I included this recipe in the Kids category, but it is not appropriate for children under one year.
Energy bar that derived from Kim Wilson’s book Everyday Wholesome Eating…In the Raw.
This is SOOOO Amazing! It makes an incredible pudding by itself. Or put it in a nut date crust for a quick, easy & Delicious chocolate pie – like in the picture.
This is a recipe for a spinach caesar salad (make a more traditional caesar by substituting 1 large head of lettuce for the spinach). Recipe by Rhio in her book Hooked on Raw.
This smoothie tasted like diary soft-serve ice-cream, only better. It is a simple smoothie recipe that can be tweaked for athletes; uses tahini which is rich in good fat, calcium and protein; and is way better to use when working out as a protein source than those awful powders. You can use anywhere from 1-6 tablespoons of tahini in the smoothie depending on your needs. Add carob or fruit, let your imagination run wild.
Recipe by Nomi Shannon in The Raw Gormet.
if i was a capitalist – this recipe would be “for sale” only! i tried many raw hummus recipes that looked a little like hummus, tasted nothing like it, and didn’t taste good either! that raw beany flavor was simply too much! now, after many years of tweaking and improvements.. i give you: REAL HUMMUS. i am in palestine, one of the hummus havens of the world.. and people who are hummus addicts, taste this hummus and say it is simply the best hummus they ever tasted. so beware!
This will make a grilled meat type flavor and texture. Very hearty and even chewy. I worked on this for a year. Now it’s just right. Goes well with my “Sweet Tangy Southern Barbeque Sauce”
A refreshing, slightly tart (depending on how many kiwi) juice. The kids loved it!
This simple salad is refreshing and crisp, and just what anyone needs on a sunny afternoon when craving something sweet and wholesome!
Smooth and creamy. What a great combo these two are together. Very sweet!!!
This is a HEAVENLY ice cream! Luv says it tastes like the Brazil Nut Chocolate Gelato that she tried at Whole Foods before we went RAW. Very Yummy! Hope you like it.
Hot, Hot, Hot! A bit of New Mexico to you. Enjoy but BEWARE!
!!NO DEHYDRATOR NEEDED!! These bars are sweetener free – they’re kindof like a Larabar. Just fruit and nuts!
Add all ingredients into blender and blend on high for 30 seconds (or more or less, depending on the power of your blender).
I think this makes a wonderful alternative to grain based oatmeal. Hits the spot everytime! And always satisfies my cravings for oatmeal!
Delicate pasta is paired with a sweet, creamy almond sauce.
Light refreshing cabbage with cucumber, carrot, jicama, pumpkin seeds, and almonds. Dressing is not necessary because there is so much flavour from the vegetables with a nice crunchy taste from the seeds. I am not one for lettuce, dressings, or salad, but I really enjoy this cabbage mixture. Enjoy!
Soooooo. Goooood. With or without the corn.
This is an extremely refreshing blackberry juice I discovered while experimenting. It’s so tasty you’ll love it!
This is a wonderful raw version of the traditional broccoli salad with bacon and cheddar. Someone else deserves the credit for this recipe, but I can’t remember where I got it from. Sorry!
I am not a huge fan of onions, so I prefer to use only 1/4 cup, and add the onion to the dressing ingredients in the blender. I also sometimes throw the broccoli in the dehydrator for a while before I mix it with the other ingredients, just to soften it up a little.
Adapted from “Rejuvenate Your Life” by Serene Allison. I found it on Raw Food Talk. I find this sauce is creamiest when I use soaked cashews. It can be used for pizza, on top of warmed broccoli, in lasagna, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: I have listed this recipe in the Kids category, but babies and some young toddlers (such as those with a family history of nut allergies) should not eat any nut products. Please consult your pediatrician before serving nuts to your child.
This is very quick, very easy, and very nice when you’re craving an oriental type flavour. Keep in mind these measurements are estimates, so taste as you go.
So QUICK & EASY, I always make this one after making the broccoli salad…this way the stalks don’t go to waste. The best part is, my two year old eats it up!!
I fashioned this after a wild mushroom lasagna with white sauce that I saw on Barefoot Contessa… it didn’t wind up tasting especially like lasagna, but it did wind up tasting very good!
I made this on whim a trying to think of a way to use up some avocados.I was originally trying to make a smoothie but it was so thick, I decided it was pudding instead, haha.
I wanted some kind of taco that was simple and didn’t require me to run the food processor or blender, since the hubby was sleeping. This came out great. My hubby tried it and liked it, but I chopped everything up into taco salad for him. A nice quick and refreshing taco (or salad)!!!!
This ice cream is interesting and sweet. Of course, it’s not for everyday because it has nothing good for you, but it’s great if you’re looking for something lightly chocolate and yummy!
This is from a Vegetarian Times recipe. They served it with fettucine noodles and described it as having “the texture of an Alfredo sauce”. I serve it over julienned veggies – carrots, parsnips, zucchini, peppers, cucumber, etc. – softened with salt and oil or use it as a guacamole-type dip for veggie sticks. It’s really refreshing and we enjoy it as a summer salad. I hope you enjoy it too.
here’s real raw halva – and it is as authentic as it gets. i am in palestine – where halva is sold in every open market by the kilo. halva is a sweet sesame confection. this raw version is pretty, delicious, heavy but dense enough to make you stop after a few bites. a great way to get more flax into my daughter’s diet…
(and yes i am well aware that the mulberries i picked this morning look (and taste) far more orgasmic – and that is perfectly fine – to compete with nature is suicide)
Someone else deserves the credit for this recipe, but I can’t remember where I jotted it down from. All I know is that it is a really tasty and decadent recipe to whip up when you are craving something sweet. At some point, I plan to try experimenting with this for a raw version of cookie dough ice cream – yum!
PLEASE NOTE: I included this recipe in the Kids category, but children under 1 year should not be served honey. Also, some children can have adverse reactions to sesame and cacao, so please use caution.
I usually prefer to cut fruit and eat it rather than drink smoothies. This may seem simple enough, but it seems to get overlooked. This makes a delicious breakfast and snack throughout the day. Other desired and seasonal fruit can be added. See my .tropical passion. if you like mango, papaya, mandarins, bananas, pineapple, and coconut.
I bought a ton of fresh asparagus and experimented in making them tasty.
This is a delicious wrap that reminds me of chicken salad. An apple might be good in this recipe too, but I didn’t have it. Also, some nuts might be good, but again, just experimenting. I don’t use exact measurements, so tasting along the way is HIGHLY recommended;)
“Careful when you open a jar of these – the only way to stop eating them is to finish the jar.” – McNeill
This recipe compliments of David McNeill. It was adapted from ‘Tasty Vegan Delights’.
When I took a bite of these cucumbers, I couldn’t believe how good they were.
I especially like this pickle recipe because it does NOT use vinegar, an amylase (enzyme) inhibitor. Although, apple cider vinegar has its benefits. Fresh dill could be used.
As with any recipe that uses lemons, make sure the lemons taste ‘right’ or taste good. Lemons can make or ‘break’ a recipe.
I was craving this special type of miso that we used to eat in the summertime in Japan. It was a little sweet, with barley, and sometimes chopped veggies in it,and we would spread it on cucumbers. The miso by itself wasn’t substantial enough, so I just mixed in some nut meal (brazil nuts).
A great twist on salad that is filling and easy to make – takes me less than 5 minutes!
For those who want a quick drink without juicing, here’s a nice one using a blender. This smoothie is runny enough to be called juice without having to extract it by straining. It is very simple, yet so delicious and REFRESHING!
After making my first nut milk I didn’t know what to do with the pulp.. so using what I had in the fridge at the time I made this “kookies”. I don’t have a dehydrator so I used the sun… it takes a bit longer but it was worth it in the end.
This is a very delicious pate that is quick and easy to make. It’s very filling and satisfying and can be used lots of different ways. (Suggestions: on a bed of grated vegies or greens with chopped tomatoes on top; as a dip with raw chips, crackers, or vegie slices; or as a sandwich on dehydrated bread or rolled up in a collard leaf)
Delightfully refreshing juice – one of my favorites.
This sounds weird…but it’s really good! Especially if you want to get the liver and blood purifying properties of both burdock and turmeric. The orange taste complements the burdock root really nicely—so if you don’t love the taste of burdock this is a good way to get it! Thanks to Lucy for her suggestion of how to make burdock root juice without a juicer! Enjoy.
A traditional waldorf salad has chicken and mayonnaise in it (ew), so I made my own healthier, almost raw version. I’ve seen that there is a recipe for raw mayo somewhere on here that would probably work in place of the yogurt, but I love that tangy taste against the apples and raisins.
Very energizing raw breakfast that keeps you full for hours. It has a mouth feel of old time warm breakfast w/ a nice sweet crunch too. Kid-friendly! Enjoy & God Bless! Angel http://myquest4health.blogspot.com Watch Me Transform!
This recipe was adapted from one posted by FreedomB in the forums on www.raw-pleasure.com.au. She used blackberries, but I use any berry that is in season, or frozen berries if I am really desperate.
This can be served in bowls as pudding, used as a icing for a raw cake, as a filling in a prepared crust, or frozen as a sorbet.
PLEASE NOTE: I included this in the Kids category, but children under one year should not be served berries.
Adapted from a recipe by Rita L on RecipeZaar.
You can substitute agave nectar for the honey, if you wish.
i really liked the quickness of this milk compared to the soaking and straining that I had to do for almond milk. I make this than i put gojo berries in a bowl with blueberries and add the milk over it…yummmy
This is a quick lunch I use when I can’t think of anything else I’d like to have, or when I’m tired of having smoothies for breakfast. It’s also good to make in the morning and take along for lunch, stirring in a drizzle of lemon or lime juice to keep the apples from turning brown.
This a basic meal, but one of my favorite! An exemple of minimalist plate, fresh and full of flavour! Miam ;)
Tropical because of the fruit. Suburban Summer, because the blended greens give the refreshing smell of freshly cut grass in the summer in the ‘burbs. (I don’t ever get that aroma in the city!)
I have been experimenting with green smoothies, and trying to move past just using spinach. At Trader Joe’s I found in a bag, already washed and cut, ready to use “Southern Greens” that includes collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, and spinach. I also got a variety of organic frozen fruit… makes smoothies quick and easy!!
Extra smooth, creamy milkshake like no other! Tastes soo good and even better than those commercial ones.
this was a total accident. it tasted EXACTLY like cream cheese to me. only, i HATE dairy, so there wasn’t exactly a party in my mouth. i figured someone who was missing it would be appreciative though. ;)
My mom used to always make this cabbage and noodle dish. It was soooo good and so darn oily sometimes too. Its Polish, I believe and this tastes alot like it.
easy, light, and crunchy pizza crust. you could make it into crackers too if you wanted.
This smoothie is a great “pick me up” if you are feeling low-energy or down. After 1 sip I can start to feel my heart beating faster!
This is a great easy dish for raw babies. I often serve it with some coconut cream and hemp seeds on top.
Make sure you use crisp apples like Gala or Pink Lady. Feel free to vary the spices – pumpkin pie spice is also tasty. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice to preserve the color, if you like.
Tastes exactly like the no-bake cookie dough I ate as a kid. Seems quite versatile. You can warm it up in the dehydrator, when refridgerated it gets hard. I broke it into pieces and served it as chocolate cereal for my four-year-old. But, its excellent straight from the bowl too!
Avocado and Banana go so well together….you could also add raisins, grapes, nuts, seeds etc.
Not completely raw, but a good source of B vitamins.
Adding more cashews makes it more solid & creamier, adding more yeast flakes makes it drier & more ‘cheesy’. If you want to use soaked cashews, it’d be best to dehydrate them before using in this recipe.
so this isn’t COMPLETELY raw… i’m really knew to eating a high-raw diet. i ussually have this later in the day and consume all raw fruits/veggies before this… SO.. if you know of ways to make this more/completely raw then go for it! and tell me too :)
This is the best bread I have ever eaten and it is sooooo simple, it is ridiculous. This will curb any cooked bread cravings… trust me!! I made this yesterday, and came home for lunch today craving something cooked. I grabbed this out of the dehydrator and I just scarfed down a whole loaf of cinnamon raisin bread in less than 10 minutes. Really good warmed in the dehydrator with whipped buttery spread. I already have another batch of wheat berries soaking to sprout.
It is from Rose Lee Calabro’s book “Living in the Raw” and her wheat bread has only 2 ingredients…. other ingredients can be added for variety.
The BEST Fettuccine Alfredo I have EVER tasted. Tastes so much like the real thing. And to think I made it by mistake!
As much as I love salad, sometimes I get tired of eating it with a fork (>_<) ... so I made this for dinner tonight. Just thought I’d share, in case anyone’s interested!
A always lovely smoothie I come back to again and again, and I never tire of it. It tastes a lot like a Booster Juice. So pink and refreshing!
My new favorite breakfast! Leaves me feeling satisfied and energized. Also good with blueberries.
A quick, simple, delicious and portable raw sandwich for the mushroom lovers of the world.
A yummy, filling breakfast treat!
Was trying to come up with a Burger recipe, but when I tasted it I thought; “Just wait till next passover.”
This is a quick & delicious salad dressing/dip with a great blend of tastes. It’s responsible for converting me & at least one other person to raw foods! If you make a big batch, it can dry out in the fridge after a few days so you may have to add more water to obtain the desired consistency.
I would’ve never dreamed these could taste so amazing…they are supremely addicting! Plus, it’s a super way to greens into your diet. I could eat 3-4 bunches of kale straight this way! This is also a great movie snack or to make with kids!
This is an incredible ketchup or BQ sauce, or a sauce for wraps or raw sushi rolls…I make it ALL the time and just love it! Definitely one of my favourites! Non-raw people just love this too…it’s really amazing because the texture gets just like ketchup if you make it thicker, and thinner, it’s a wonderful dressing! I love versitality.
Super simple, quick and easy, nutritious and delicious. What more can I say? The funny thing about this is I do not care for any of these items alone but together… together they are one of my favorite foods!
This has such a nice flavour…I just slurped it all down with a smile. The oranges add so much.
Got this from my raw foods recipes group.Contributed by Allison Gozzo
I adjust the basic tofu pate recipe to whatever happens to be seasonal or in my fridge. Adjust any of the quantities as you see fit, as the trick is to just make it to taste. Great w/ any type of cracker or bread-like unit.
This came out better than I expected (I just love throwing stuff together), but it’s missing something. Any suggestions?
Easy, quick, and perfect for those little sweet strikes. Sesame seeds are an incredible source of calcium, so enjoy! I make this for my Daddy (as you can see) all the time (He loves it and he’s not raw!) Enjoy!
I took this on a long family trip…it was a lovely treat and a good hold off when I was really hungry. It’s wonderful to have this on hand for the “munchie” strikes or for any day trip or hike.
VERRRY delicious, refreshing drink. I would recomend this drink to anyone. its incredible!
Quick and tasty way to eat your hemp!
I’m always drinking chocolate shakes (ok, not always, lol) but this is utterly scrummy…like a melted, yet still half-frozen, chocolate ice-cream.
I’ve been trying to figure out a simple way to get Vitamineral Greens into my diet, without all the sugar that seems to come along with smoothies—this is a suprisingly pleasant tasting mixture that is easy for me to drink every day!
I just came up with this – i was watching a cooking show, and suddenly it hit me: i needed to eat tomatoes NOW! Here’s the result. I loved it!! Hopefully you will too!
A couple of days ago I whipped this up as a snack and my whole family loved it, so here it is! My mother came up with the name since the corn has a sweet flavor.
I had been wanting to make these for awhile and i finally did! these are truly amazing cookies! and this is probably the best thing ive ever made! i got this recipe from the daily raw cafe. so thats who the credit for the recipe goes to.
This is a take off of an Ani Phyo recipe, hers calls for a lot of olive oil, but I thought replacing with an avocado would work and it was great
Usually pour this on shredded napa cabbage, broken up romaine and some shredded carrots. For an added treat, I top it off with Ani Phyo’s “Love the Chick Pate”
The color of this beet salad is so beautiful! Magnificent Purple.
Creamy, cold, blueberry. What more could you ask for on a hot humid mosquito-y summer day?
Quick, easy mango cobbler that is out of this world. Inspired from Ani!
Super easy, delicious cucumber bites that are perfect as an appetizer, an after dinner snack or for parties. Did I say it’s super easy?
great for breakfast!
This satisfies my curry cravings, and it is so quick to make!
Easy recipe for cranberry relish. Thanks to Denise Thomas for the basis for this recipe (I basically added measurement amounts).
A savory sauce over spagetti-like squash noodles. Recipe by Denise Thomas.
A wonderful and simple “pudding” or sauce that makes a great snack. Great for breakfast or anytime of the day!
Since Larabars are raw and 100% fruit (and nuts), this recipe is easy to make! These bars are SO yummy and they’re great for taking with you to work! The credit for this recipe does not go to me, but I don’t remember where I found it – sorry!
Satisfy your creamy/crunchy/sweet cravings all in one!
So this salad is suuuper easy (only need a knife for the choppin’), and the flavors and textures combine really well. I eat this one at least once a week during the summertime. It’s also nice to take to raw potlucks as you can whip it together in no time (if you do, just double the recipe and make sure to add the wakame after you get there, in order to maintain the crunch). Enjoy!
delicious brownie mix
I love Middle Eastern fare, and halwa is one of my favourite desserts. It is so easy to make, and it’s very delicious!
One of the most fantastic green smoothie ever! Here’s the recipe for those who want to experience the taste of orange and green mingled bliss…
This recipe was posted by MissGiggles in the forums on www.raw-pleasure.com.au. She described it as “a beautiful pudding, with a fresh lemon kick, without being tart. The pudding is speckled with the blitzed passionfruit seeds, and looks a little like lemon/poppyseed”. It really is tasty and truly does look like the color of a gorgeous sunset, if you’re into that sort of thing.
It can be served in bowls as pudding, used as a icing for a raw cake, as a filling in a prepared crust, or frozen as a sorbet.
PLEASE NOTE: I included this in the Kids category, but for children under 1 year, you may want to omit the lemon juice and zest.
Who knew you can make something that so resembles the classic? And without the use of nut milk too! And yet, the first time I tasted this with cinnamon, I thought, “Hmmm… tastes like Christmas.” And my grandmother said, “Hmmm… if a person didn’t know better, they would think this is watered down cow milk.” To which I replied, “Like skim milk?!”
Inspired by something I read on the Rawmodel blog.
I sized this portion to mix in my little ‘Magic Bullet’ blender. It really has turned out to be quite useful. Use any nut, soy, or other milk you prefer. Some folks prefer a bit of water and less milk. Note that this does contain dairy in the form of whey protein, which is great for maintaining or building muscle, also if you’re consciously losing weight.
An absolutely delicious smoothie that everyone in my family loves. The measurements are approximate, a little more or less of some ingredients doesn’t affect the taste.
This smoothie used up a really ripe banana, an orange close to being out of it’s prime, and the last of a big head of pineapple i had. mmmm so tasty!!!!! A little on the pulpy side, but if you cut the pineapple cleanly it shouldn’t be so bad. I didn’t mind it, personally.
I was craving an Italian salad and needed something besides watermelon all the time. So I made this and let me tell you, I am NEVER going back to those classic blah salads. Actually, I haven’t eaten salad in probably 3-4 months… so this was great. Simple, quick, and made from what was in my garden – with a little help – with the easiest seasonings: salt, pepper, and oil.
The picture is of the salads Conner and I were eating at the time, we’re already eaten half, so don’t think this is a small salad!
Easy and quick cookie/snack bar made with only 3 ingredients and a processor! You could use dates instead of raisins if you wanted to – I haven’t but you could!
