Drink Recipes
A nice refreshing pick me up with a ginger citrus like zing. Very healthy, provides lots of antioxidants and omegas!
I actually got the idea for this drink from a recipe I found through the Sunny Raw Kitchen site. The recipe was called “Best Coffee Ever”. It was very good, but a little too thick, and strong. So, I made some changes after many trial and errors with the recipe. I finally came up with this rendition, which I truly found delicious! I hope you do too.
One note: I recommend you use “heaping” scoops of the raw cacao powder, and heaping tablespoons of the raw carob. It’s okay to use a little more of both then not.
It kicks! Turmeric, strawberries, beet and more make a drink as punchy as it is colourful….Turmeric is that pungent, bright yellow, woody-tasting spice that promotes proper metabolism, healthy heart and clear skin It’s great for stomach ailments, blood cleansing and – would you believe – sprains? The taste? .......... Unique… From Lost Knob comes a final offering: A tantalising beverage with fascinating mouth feel. Pungent and woody turmeric notes come through strongly and leave an intriguing aftertaste amplified by the woodiness of the beet and counterpointed by the tang of strawberry and orange… The vibrant ‘red on red’ hue is deeply intensified by the golden stain of the fresh turmeric….... The palate is long and slightly acrid ..And I apologise if I’ve pinched anyone else’s recipe, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else and this was so good I had to christen it and make it public.
This delightful summer drink is sweet, refreshing & a lovely pink. The lemon juice & ginger add just the right punch. Watermelon is a wonder food which is delicious, nutritious, low-calorie, easy-to-find (well, in summer) & economical. It is high in vitamins A & C, potassium and the antioxidant lycopene which may help reduce the inflammation that contributes to asthma, atherosclerosis, diabetes, colon cancer, arthritis, etc. I like to tuck a bottle of this in the cooler to enjoy on a picnic or after a hike.
This is a basic recipe for making almond milk in your home. Feel free to vary the the amount of water to suit your taste – the less water, the thicker the drink.
Add all ingredients into blender and blend on high for 30 seconds (or more or less, depending on the power of your blender).
A warm, creamy concoction that could put Starbucks out of business (...almost).
This is my favorite summertime drink! I was at a fair in 2007 and couldn’t find a single vendor with something raw until my boyfriend’s daughter asked for lemonade from the cart a few yards away. I watched the woman squeeze (gasp) real lemons into a cup and add sugar and water. Since then I’ve been making my own honey-sweetened version, and recently decided to try adding peppermint sun tea to it. This is just fabulous!
My breakfast fast special.
This is a very creamy and thick coconutmilk cream. You can drink it like that or you can remove the pulp, which will make it less creamy. The milk cream thickens considerably when set in the fridge for several hours. I use this one for milkshakes, pies, cakes, flans and other desserts.
Yea, i know its a silly name. but i thought it fit hehe :). this a very delicious and nutritious drink that u=i have every morning before i eat anything solid including smoothies.
Ok I did this because 1 there are none on here and 2 we are going to be called GONE Desserts if we don’t start making some recipes for better life. This juice is great, and I can only vouch for the mylk bag technique for this, as I don’t have a juicer. I have this juice everyday that I pack in my mason jars for work. It is great for all you TEA lovers who just need that taste of tea.
This recipe is from The New Soul Vegetarian Cookbook. My sister-in-law gave it to me. I make this drink whenever anyone has the slightest sign of a cold. The ginger BURNS! But your cold disappears. I am starting to make it daily now, with less ginger, since I noticed that an increase in my ginger intake has been clearing out my sinuses!
This is an extremely refreshing blackberry juice I discovered while experimenting. It’s so tasty you’ll love it!
This is delicious and packs a lot of nutrients! It has 25% of your daily intake of calcium, 35% of your iron, 30% of your magnesium and lots and lots more. It gave me a huge energy rush I was told by my manager to sustain myself.
Place ingredients one by one in juicer. Pour into glass, relax and Enjoy. Or great on the go refreshing energy booster. Option: Spoon out some of the vegetable and fruit fiber in the juicer extractor and stir into juice for added texture and fiber. Delicious, uplifting drink.
This is great to have before, durring, or after any sport – or simply for a hot day. I throw it in a water bottle and take it with me to the tennis court, or on a long, long bike ride. The limons help my impulses and the agave replenishes my energy slowly without creating a sugar high/crash.
Another recipe I found on www.welikeitraw.com Very very Tasty and just what I was looking for to help my cravings for warm coffee in the morning. You can also make the instant cashew milk from raw almond butter or any seed or nut butters. I also made a chai verson with chai tea bags. The variations are endless, I’m going to try it with some organic cocoa. PERFECT!!!!!
This is a spiced cocoa recipe that I came up with to replace my hot milk and nutmeg to help me sleep. Nutmeg is great for relieving insomnia! Theses are all warming spices, so you really don’t need to warm this drink up. It will warm you up from the insides out.
Note: the amount of nutmeg can be decreased if you are not a nutmeg fan. The amount I use is medicinal.
A whole lotta Horchata!~ This is a great tasting drink! It’s basically Mexican sweet rice milk. Usually, it is made with white rice, sugar, and vanilla, but I did not have vanilla and I don’t eat white rice or sugar, so I used brown rice and raisins, and it tasted just the same! It’s heaven in a cup, so drink up!
For those who love hemp and for those you would like a super healthy nutritious snack!

Refreshing, cleansing watermelon juice.
Amazing way to start your day! Elevating, satisfying, nourishing… Reishi – enhance our body’s immune system restoring to its natural state, anabling all organs to function well and improve blood circulation.
This was inspires by rawmumma’s raw-eo smoothie, and perked me up very nicely before I had to go to work.
Tropical because of the fruit. Suburban Summer, because the blended greens give the refreshing smell of freshly cut grass in the summer in the ‘burbs. (I don’t ever get that aroma in the city!)
I have been experimenting with green smoothies, and trying to move past just using spinach. At Trader Joe’s I found in a bag, already washed and cut, ready to use “Southern Greens” that includes collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, and spinach. I also got a variety of organic frozen fruit… makes smoothies quick and easy!!
For those who want a quick drink without juicing, here’s a nice one using a blender. This smoothie is runny enough to be called juice without having to extract it by straining. It is very simple, yet so delicious and REFRESHING!
Perfect for all applications. It’s so Easy!Try it!!!
This is a creamy, not icy, shake. It is sweet, yet not tooooo sweet. It is an energy and sugar (of the good sugars, of course) boost.
For those cold rainy nights, nothing like a warm (warmish) drink to comfort you. This drink is delicious and good for you. The spices are very warming, enjoy :)
i just made this because i was craving the chocolate cherry ice cream recipe from this site but didn’t have any frozen bananas. it’s actually very tasty.
A perfect alternative to the “Green Smoothie.” Get your daily greens without ruining a yummy fruit smoothie, or inefficiently juicing greens…
YUMMEE!
Extra smooth, creamy milkshake like no other! Tastes soo good and even better than those commercial ones.
This is soooo cooling and refreshing – I just had one and needed to share!! The slight creaminess from the brazil nuts and sunflower seeds, mixes perfectly with the mint-melon-lemon tang. The use of a small amount honey or agave brings out the flavour of the melon – be sure not to use too much! Enjoy:)
This is a creamy, not shake like thick, cold milk! Creamy, sweet, very light ivory (almost while) color. Piel de Sapo melon comes from Spain and it is incredibly sweet. See picture for the melon and shake.
Very mild and extremely refreshing green smoothie!
This recipe was born today when I used the left over milk from making “Dulce de las Tres Leches” (Three Sort Milk Dessert – not the cake) raw version, for a shake. The original cooked recipe comes from Puerto Rico. Well, it also exists in Colombia and Venezuela, but I know it from Puerto Rico. This is not the recipe for the dessert, it is for the mixture of the creamy three sort milk raw I came up with. It is a drink, a sauce, a cream… It can be used for soups, creamier and sweeter consistency, in a shake, flan, desserts, you name it. I think it would make a great egglessnog sprinkel with cinamon for the festivities.
Today I felt like a cold fruity drink with a bite, so I created this simple but yummy treat. For a frozen dessert, add 1/2 to 1 banana (depending on how creamy you want it) and put in the freezer. And to those braver than I, feel free to add more ginger.
Sweet and creamy almondmilk cream. It can be used in cereals, desserts, pies, flans, shakes. It is sweet but not so sweet as the cashewmilk cream recipe I posted on this website. Of the my three milk cream recipes (coconut, cashew and almond) this one is less thick of, but it is still more a cream than a very runny milk.
This is a very creamy, thick, smooth milk cream. Very sweet too. It is perfect for milky shakes, to be added to cream soups, as a sauce on fruit plates, for making flans, cheesecake, pies, etc. In a recipe called Dulce de Tres leches, I use it in place of condenced milk.
A very warming jumpstart-type drink, this is my raw-foodist’s answer to all those coffee-shops’ super-spiced autumnal coffee concotions, the kind I used to imbibe while studying for my fall midterms in New England… But it’s also a more healthful (to me in any case) alternative to super-fatty cacao drinks based on coconut or nut/seed milks, which sit in my belly making me feel heavy while my mind gets all cacao-buzzed. In this drink the stimulant is still there, but it’s supported by real cellular nutrition thanks to the carrot juice. Use in moderation! Cacao is addictive! The cranberries seem to lighten up the flavor, but aren’t necessary—it’s all about the carrots and spices and cacao. The coconut oil is for sweetness and smoothness but also to aid in the absorption of the carrots’ Vitamin A, which is fat-soluble.
All ingredience can be changed in quantity to suit taste. I have one of these daily. This morning i added goji berries, chia seeds and some cacao butter.
Okay, I just had a craving for some kiwis and I just came up with this drink… it serves one and it is bliss.
I know.. That is what Juliano calls it. It’s from his book “RAW The UN-cook Book” It’s a great way add moisture with out watering anything down. I like this in a glass, all by it self.
A more mellow, comforting autumnal drink. I’ve now tried it now with a pumpkin, but also with an acorn-shaped squash that ressembles a pumpkin in color, and with a flat pumpkin called “sweet” by the farmers. All turn out deliciously. I was going to work on my pumpkin pie recipe this morning, but this little pumpkin somehow ended up going through my juicer, and I’m glad it did. Without the almonds it is smoother, more elemental. With the almonds it is rounder, warmer.
Another version of the Mexican drink, great on those hot Santa Ana days here in the Southwest!
This is a deep rich chocolately smoothie which helps to take the place of my dark cup of morning coffee!
I’ve been trying to figure out a simple way to get Vitamineral Greens into my diet, without all the sugar that seems to come along with smoothies—this is a suprisingly pleasant tasting mixture that is easy for me to drink every day!
This is my “in progress” version of raw Root Beer. I will adding other ingredients in the future to get even a better root-y taste but this turned out pretty tasty!
I found this recipe online and made it tonight and it tastes really good.
I have heard of almond milk, sunflower milk, cashew milk, but what about the poor pistachios. Give these bad boys a go for some delicious milk!
One of the most fantastic green smoothie ever! Here’s the recipe for those who want to experience the taste of orange and green mingled bliss…

Who knew you can make something that so resembles the classic? And without the use of nut milk too! And yet, the first time I tasted this with cinnamon, I thought, “Hmmm… tastes like Christmas.” And my grandmother said, “Hmmm… if a person didn’t know better, they would think this is watered down cow milk.” To which I replied, “Like skim milk?!”
Everyone always does Strawberry Kiwi, so my sister saw my fresh blueberries and thought, “Why not blueberries?!”. We whipped one up and Oh Yum! Tart, but yummy!
a tart drink, with all the fiber from the greens leftover. i find that green smoothies are a little too sweet for me and i don’t get much green “mileage” out of them. the play between the tart citrus and the sweet apple in this covers up the bitterness of the greens nicely. and a bonus is that it turns into a kind of frappe when you make it with spinach. ENJOY!
This is my first good attempt at trying to make a Raw Coca-Cola. I had a taste for a 7-11 Coke Slurpee last week and I thought – I really gotta work on the Raw Coke recipe.
My bf said this came pretty close so I posting for you all to enjoy. I plan to improve it by adding some sasaprilla to the recipe -when I can find some! :)
Update: I made this with sassaprilla powder (you can buy at mountainroseherbs.com) and it helps with the bitterness of the kola nut. I also changed the cinammon, added lemon juice and agave nectar and increased the vanilla.
I was craving broccoli last night but I didn’t feel like chewing anything, so I put together this powerful and very filling green smoothie. Kept me full for hours! The broccoli gives this a really cool flavor – don’t know how to describe it other than just try it!
