Breakfast Recipes

I found this on a web site, I just can’t remember which one. I hand copied it ages ago. I love it. Have fun with this. Serve it up with Bacon (found on this site)or fruit or on some Better Than Sliced Bread(fond on this site) for a sandwich. On Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen Website (google it,and also on youtube) this is called The Spanish scramble. A lovely person, shgadwa, found it. Check out his remarks below. Thanks.

A refreshing kale smoothie to satisfy your sweet and sour tooth! This is what I had for dinner today, after a hard work out at the gym. My body is saying thank you!!

It tastes like ribena to me?!

Limebars1_thumb

I love Lara Bars, but not the price, so I decided to try and make a yummy version of my own. :) My 6 year old loves these, and would eat the whole pan if I let her. :)

This is heavenly – what could be better than ice cream for breakfast?

I find this to be a perfect replacement for dairy. It has a nutty and smooth texture that is a perfect base for smoothies.

Bananamillet_thumb

Simple, tasty, and easy to transport!

Mintygreengrape_thumb

.This drink is so elegant, so refreshing, and great for you!

This is the best frozen strawberry yogurt I have ever had!! it taste just like the ones you buy in the store!

Breakfast_smoothie_thumb

Easy-to-digest fruit with protein from almond milk. Very delicious combo!

Lilysbb1_thumb

I made this as a snack and instantly thought “This would make a great baby food” I plan on making this for my daughter when she’s ready to start trying food. It’s easy to make and is a healthy way to start a baby on raw..

Spelling_bee_2007_017-large_thumb

Tart, sweet and crunchy

Granolas2_thumb

GoodMoodFood.com class was amazing last Sunday! one of the first recipe we tryed was refreshing filling AND so delicious!

Spelling_bee_2007_014-large_thumb

Tastes so close to yogurt…and it’s NUT FREE!

Img_1632_thumb

this is the easiest, quick breakfast in raw food history!!. This is what i make on those mornings when i dont want to do much prep work to get my tummy full.

I found Honeycrisp Apples yesterday. I was excited because these are one of my favorite kinds of apples (Winesap are another favorite).

I was inspired by the strawberry-rhubarb pie someone just posted in the recipe section. I have a rhubarb patch I’ve never picked yet until today, so it seemed like a great time to experiment with a new shake recipe!

We really loved it. I remember eating stalks of rhubarb dipped in sugar as a kid. This is MUCH nicer.

Img_0085_thumb

This very loosely resembles a staple Russian breakfast food, grechnevaya kasha (boiled buckwheat, usually made with milk and honey). It’s probably more like oatmeal.

Img_0587-large_thumb

Orangey and deluctable…your Highnesses will most certainly enjoy a shot of power for a fantastic day of reigning.

Images_10__thumb

I love my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons in the morning, along with a big pink drink.

This is a smoothie I made one morning for my older brother and I. The combination of ginger and beet is really soothing especially for the digestive tract and the citrus is really energizing. This got my morning started right. This uses a juicer and a Variable Speed Vita-mix. Oh! Be careful with the beet, it can stain everything in sight, including curious dogs!

Granola2_thumb

The granola I make at home are always different. It depends on what I feel like putting in. In this recipe, I like to have a good nutty pumpkin seed taste and pumpkin seeds lowers cholesterol, promotes prostate health, helps prevent osteoporosis and of course it taste delicious!

I had a stomach thing and the only thing I wanted was fruity pudding (go figure?) I threw this together and it was perfect. Play with the measurements to suit you

Raw_biscotti-large_thumb

A decadent crispy cookie treat- but good for you!

These cakes are delicious. They are sweet and chewy and the cranberries give them a bit of a kick!

Creamy dark purple “soft-serve ice cream” that tastes like chocolate-covered blueberries!

My 1 year olds favorite right now. Makes a good breakfast or snack.

Lovely soft cakes made with seasonal ingredients for halloween or teatime!

They’re cute, really.

Strawberry-smoothie_thumb

Fruity smoothie with a hint of wheatgrass with a refreshing aftertaste.

Img_0456_thumb

This is a nice, banana-less drink that seriously tastes like buttermilk (oh, sweet memories), only green! Add a lot of almond milk to thin, because it’ll seriously make you think you’re drinking something “milky”, not a thick green shake. A very refreshing change. Enjoy!

Berrysmoothie_thumb

For those who love hemp and for those you would like a super healthy nutritious snack!

This is pretty close to commercial yogurt in texture and tartness. I like to mix in some berries pureed with a little agave nectar, and sprinkle a little granola on top.

a summer staple for me on those long hot days!

This was inspired by my dad and his wife, but in Philly this is synonymous with summer. I don’t know if Maple syrup is raw but fully blended this treat is AMAZING – and so easy to make, very cleansing and mineral packed.

Red_white_and_green_drink_thumb

Place ingredients one by one in juicer. Pour into glass, relax and Enjoy. Or great on the go refreshing energy booster. Option: Spoon out some of the vegetable and fruit fiber in the juicer extractor and stir into juice for added texture and fiber. Delicious, uplifting drink.

a quick snack …

The best fruit combo ever!

P9260106_thumb

Juice the Lilikoi fruit with small hand juicer. Then place all ingredients in blender until smooth and thick. The Lilikoi really makes this drink! Very Tastee!

This is a heavenly sweet and creamy smoothie for hot summer days.

Hpim1677_thumb

great for “on the go”

I drove past Star Bucks and instantly craved a chai tea, it’s been getting colder and I had just picked up a young coconut. This drink is creamy and sweet, a bit spicy and warm just right as it gets chilly.

This is a cereal you can improvise with and make into your own. Use whatever ingredients are handy, this is just a starting-point.

Green_smoothie_thumb

My first green smoothie recipe to make! Very yummy and energizing. My favorite fruit smoothie was always Strawberry Banana with a bit of orange, so I added the spinach and it was a winner! This smoothie keeps well overnight in the fridge for a great ‘to go’ breakfast.

I start gettin a a alot of corn beginning may, which becomes a staple food. I decided to mic my two favorite staples together and it turned out awesome! You could always addsome cinnamon and other spices if you want.

Better than the commercial version!

Granola_thumb

Simple, healthy granola. Since it’s already so nut-heavy, I generally serve it with nana milk, plus a handful of raisins.

You can increase or decrease the amount of dates to make it more or less sweet, but you’ll also make the final granola more or less chewy. I used 20 dates last time I made it, & found it too sweet for my tastes, & too chewy to really be granola – still tasted good though. (The photo is from the batch I made with too many dates – you can still see some large pieces of date in there – I’ll change it when I make the next batch.) The cinnamon is mostly there to make the whole thing taste a little sweeter – you can also add a pinch of salt if you like, which will make it taste sweeter still.

I just got my dehydrator today, and was anxious to try a recipe. This snack is moist, sweet, chewy (depending on how long you dehydrate it and on what temperature),and can be all raw. After tasting the mixture, I put some aside to eat as porridge because it was so tasty. I am on a gluten-free diet and was told that John McCann’s oat groats are gluten free, so this made me happy!

I made this with what I had left in my fridge. All ingredients are approximate. It filled my entire Vitamix before blending. I added only about 1/2 cup at first and after all was blended down, I added more to desired consistency.

This goes fantastic with bananas or any type of sweetener and some cacao and maca powder. This milk is full of calcium and healthy plant fat.

This is a sweet and filling breakfast shake. It will keep you going with energy all morning.

Harmony_s_food_026-large_thumb

Wonderful Cake, not too sweet, very much a banana taste.

Loosely based on Shazzie’s Cardamom Cooler, this is an enzyme rich treat with an Indian flare!

Img_4542_thumb

This recipe has been handed down through my family since Olden Tymes.

Wonderful way to start your day the GREEN way! My fastest, easiest Green Smoothie yet.

Lame title… haha, sorry!

Yoghurt_thumb

I love yoghurt and it has been hard to give it up, so I decided to try and concoct a recipe which allowed me to have ‘yoghurt’ but raw! It is basically almond milk without the liquid consistency.

Could possibly be frozen for ice cream (?)

Not a great photo :/ Sorry!

simple sweet snack

Nanaimo Bars are a delicious three-layered confection that originated in Nanaimo, BC. They are super rich, and usually made with tons of butter, sugar, and eggs. You can easily find these at coffee shops/Tim Horton’s/etc in Canada. This is my first attempt at making a raw version, and they turned out pretty well. The two outer layers are chocolatey, and the middle is usually a sweet custardy filling. Some places add mint or coffee flavoring here, but in this recipe, the almond butter makes it almost like an Almond Nanaimo Bar.

Layer 3 (below) is supposed to be a chocolate frosting. While it’s pretty good, if you have your own recipe for it, I would love to hear an alternate version.

Img_0094-large_thumb

For the adventurous smoothie lover, this is savory yet slightly sweet. Chilling before serving is a must!!! It makes the flavors much nicer. I think this could easily be tweeked to be a sauce or soup also.

I use to make this with regular yogurt, but since going raw, this is an excellent addition to my collection.

If you’re looking for some flavor in your smoothie this is it!

Img_7538-large_thumb

Who does not love apples with cinnamon? :)

I love this in the morning. I love the way you can change this dish and not have it the same way twice in one week. You can top it with my Black Tar (recipe found here) put in some raisins with maple syrup and cinnamon. I even like it with apples and cinnamon. Top it with almond milk. Pop it into your dehydrator as you prepare for the day for an hour or so till warm. YUMM! You can really have fun with this.Enjoy

Ryplei_spring_concert_2008_001-large_thumb

Bright citrus overtones with a creamy sweet finish, perfect for a warm summer day.

a superfoods shake that will not only glorify your health but surprise yourself/your friends with how wonderfully chocolaty a meal can be while enhacing your beautiful self! a great way to “pick me up” any time of the day!

P9300391_thumb

Amazing way to start your day! Elevating, satisfying, nourishing… Reishi – enhance our body’s immune system restoring to its natural state, anabling all organs to function well and improve blood circulation.

Had a persimmon that needed to be eaten and came up with this this morning. It has such a comforting, unusual taste to it that is really quite lovely. I bet it would be incredible frozen and eaten like a custard. Yum!

My girlies love to drink this “Princess Pink” smoothie while watching their Disney Princess movies.

Trifle-to-go_thumb

Filling and light dessert for the warmer weather and great to have a few made up in the fridge for unexpected guests!

Laver2_thumb

Based on Irish Laver Bread using nori. A lovely bread for any topping.

Applecado_thumb

A yummy pudding or mousse like dish with a nice, yogurt-like tang. It’s great on grawnola or fruit, or eaten by itself!

I call this power up because it takes only one or two to fill me up and give me energy! This bar is not really sweet so you could always add a little agave.

Cacao_goji_buns_thumb

Nice cake-like fruit bun with superfoods cacao and gojis.

I made 3 of this recipe one morning when the only fruit in the house was rasberries and bananas. The amount of Dates and Honey/agave really depends on how thick and sweet you want your rasberry sauce. This recipe reminds me of the banana chunks in strawberry gel that you see in some chineese restraunts.

Oh yeah! Very chocolatey and VERY filling!

019_thumb

This is my favorite smoothie, in fact, it’s one of my favorite foods. I just love the combination of icy cold sweet blueberries – and the bee pollen, which can taste very bitter depending on your tastes, is so sweet and adds so much great flavor. It is also great to bring around on a hot day.If you are worried about whether bee pollen is vegan, it is actually more vegan than honey, because it is created using the bees’ legs versus the mouth, which is how honey is made. Feel free to use a vegan raw sweetener instead of honey, if desired.

Ok I did this because 1 there are none on here and 2 we are going to be called GONE Desserts if we don’t start making some recipes for better life. This juice is great, and I can only vouch for the mylk bag technique for this, as I don’t have a juicer. I have this juice everyday that I pack in my mason jars for work. It is great for all you TEA lovers who just need that taste of tea.

Img_0881_thumb

This smoothie is creamy and sweet but it still has the greens that you need! This is one of my absolute favorite shakes.

This drink makes a fabulous breakfast or meal replacement (it really fills me up).

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

Hooray_for_superman_pic_thumb

My mom says it makes her want to say “Hooray for Superman!” Because my mom said, “Hooray for Superman!” that’s what we called it. Dr. Cousens Phase 1

This is a nice cold, thick & creamy smoothie.

Would you like delectable and rich ice kream sammy’s that are really simple to make and don’t involve tons of nuts?! Of course you do:)

This recipe was born out of sheer frustration resulting from finding nuts really hard to digest with my tummy AND my wallet and also not liking the overwhelming banana flavour of banana ice kream. The hemp seed oil in the cookies adds a delicious and unique caramel-like flavour to them once frozen. Can you say MMMMM or what!?

Incredibly easy and delicious. Great replacement for cereal in the morning. Add fresh fruit if desired.

I was in a creative mood this morning and created this. I couldnt believe how good it was.

Yummy sweet green power drink. Spinach and blueberries go very well together I think :)

Picture_064_thumb

beautiful summer breakfast

i had some wilting lemon basil in the fridge and couldnt see wasting it so i blended up this smoothie this morning and its terrific! i guess if you had no lemon basil you could add basil and one lemon for the same refreshing effect

Datesyrup_thumb

This was posted on vegsorce.com by silverfire. I have added the vanilla and cinnamon to it.

For those looking to substitute the use of agave and/or maple syrup. I was not aware of how much we are effecting the bat population by our use of agave, until recently. It is the main food source for nectar bats. Victoria J. has posted a thread about Agave Nectar and Bat Populations.

They are delicious and can be made into little flax rounds.

Adapted from Carol Alts Raw 50. This awesome vanilla base is great for any malt/shake fruits!

When I first tasted a cacao bean I couldn’t stand it. Too bitter for me! So I came up with this recipe, and now I truly enjoy my cacao :-) ( And girls, it works really well if you’ve got menstrual cramps! )

This smoothie boasts almost 300% of your daily Vitamin A thanks to the beta carotene in this combo. Beta Carotene nuetralizes free radicals, strengthens immune functioning, and promotes health skin cells. With 165% of your daily Vitamin C needs, it helps maintain collogen in your skin as well. 16 % of your daily calcium is a great way to start your morning too. This is a delicious and great breakfast smoothie.

Peach_pie_5-2007_1_thumb

I made this for breakfast a few days ago, because I had some bananas & nectarines that were getting quite ripe. It was a HUGE hit! Hope you will all enjoy it too!

Cardamom_plum_pudding_thumb

I had a bag full of plums from my farmer’s market that were going to go bad soon, so I wanted to use them up. Came up with this yummy snack! This would make a divine fruit leather, as well, I imagine.

001_thumb

YUMMY ice-cream like bar. My kids loved it and so did I!

Yea, i know its a silly name. but i thought it fit hehe :). this a very delicious and nutritious drink that u=i have every morning before i eat anything solid including smoothies.

Just a little cool something for those hot summer days.

Picture_017_thumb

My new favourite fruit: The pomelo! Slightly tart, and slightly sweeter than a grapefruit, it makes delicious juice.

refreshing drink that you’ll love!!!!!

Pb040427_thumb

Very simple and elegant dish. Similar combination of dates and almond paste is a North African tradition, such as Algeria.

Yummy and creamy. Maybe not best described as a chocolate milkshake but thats what it reminded me of. Either way, its good!

Cereal_thumb

those are the best raw cereals, even better than the cooked ones. recipe is slightly modified from the book: raw food real world.

Dscn2282_thumb

I’ve been too busy eating this pie to write down the recipe, but I figured it would just be too mean to withhold any longer. I eat it for breakfast… oh my goodness!!! Good with raspberries on top…

Starfruit_smoothie_thumb

Fragrant, exotic and yummy.

I made this for my 2 1/2 year old son, River yesterday and he DEVOURED it!. A big accomplishment for a kid who hates greens :)

Clementine_star_anise_smoothie_resized700jan14_2007_thumb

I had some clementines that had been drying out where they were too dry to eat plain but were still good. I wanted to use them up so they wouldn’t go to waste. I am so glad I did. It’s very yummy!!! The fiber from the pulp & pith makes it smooth & creamy. When you drink it, you taste a hint of the star anise with a vanilla after taste that lingers. MMMMmmmmm

So simple and easy. Tastes good too.

I’ve been craving lox – When most people say ‘lox’ they don’t mean gravlox, they mean smoked salmon. Having grown up in a Jewish family Bagels and Lox is the comfort food of my childhood. A few days ago I decided to create the elements for an authentic Bagel-n-Lox. This is as close as any smoked salmon recipe I’ve ever tasted. Enjoy with my Real Cream Cheese and Authentically-Onion Bagels.e

Final_sun_glazed_fruit_salad1_thumb

Well after finishing the last of my final exams at UCSD today, I felt like the sun was shining much much brighter. I got back home and decided to make myself a special treat with the little food I still had left in the fridge after studying for 5 days straight. If you though my other recipes were simple, this is just going to blow you away. As always, I hope you love it as much as I do.

This recipe is from Roshi’s Raw Lifestyle . For the original posting, visit this link .

delicious with any berry, or cherries or apricots…

This is amazingly fresh, easy and delicous.

Dsc00427-large_thumb

This looks like fried eggs but it is just a round slice of Jicama on the bottom and a smaller round slice of yellow bell pepper on the top. The “bacon” is a thin slice of red bell pepper and a lighter color vegtable or fruit on top to look a little like bacon. I used a thin slice of Jicama but pineapple would be nice too. I added cornbread I made on the dehydrator with fresh corn kernels blended with onion, pepper, tomatillos, jalepenos, and pine nuts.

This drink is very creamy, and pulpy. The flavors are refreshing for a breakfast smoothie, or a mid-day snack. Enjoy!

Img_1086-large_thumb

I’ve been enjoying all sorts of chia puddings since getting the idea from the “tapioca” chia pudding on this site. This was my attempt to create one reminiscent of the rice pudding my grandma used to make for breakfast!

This is a good, basic superfood smoothie to get you going in the morning or pick you up in the afternoon!

naturally sweet, and stimulates brain function, great on Gogi Cacao nib cereal

P1150228_thumb

I was experimenting today and came up with this.

For some extra sweetness, feel free to add a few squirts of agave!

Here is another nut mylk recipe with a slight citrus kick! You can use extract as a substitute for the zest, but I tried it once, and the taste doesn’t compare. Use the zest for real, authentic flavor!

Gorgeous bread Essene style, very tasty!

2401296277_edfd0f225a_thumb

this smoothie is super creamy & really delicious … One of my very favs.

Inspired by Ani Phyo’s Breakfast cakes. I added a few ingredients.

I eat this almost every morning! It’s perfect with some fresh almond milk and a glass of my Pomberry Juice (see my recipes). This recipe is super flexible so you can add or remove whatever you’d like!

Ever want a cool smoothie but would like a suprise taste explosion at the end? Try this! =)

I got the idea for these adorable bear-pancakes when watching “27 dresses” and knew my kids would love them…and they do!!! I make them late morning and serve them for dinner that night.

(pic taken before dehydrating)

Raw_recipe_photos_059__2__thumb

So quick and easy!

Polenta-1_thumb

This is a very substantial dinner. It’s taken from the book, “Raw,” by Trotter and Klein. This is the favorite recipe of my boyfriend so far. He added some hot peppers to the top.

Chocolate_pancakes_thumb

Gorgeous satisfying breakfast, yet quite light. I can’t believe I ate the whole plateful!!

Banana bread was the ultimate in comfort food. These oaties do the trick and will take additions/substitutions easily.

A super-sweet peachy smoothie that is more of a dessert than anything! My picky kids love this smoothie and it is one of my favorites!

(btw – I only had one fresh peach so that is why I mixed fresh and frozen)

Cantaloupe_green_smoothie_thumb

We bought excellent ripe and juicy cantaloupes this weekend at our city market and i was inspired to juice and smoothie-ize them.

Picture_012_thumb

Last week, I made the Strawberry Panna Cotta with Blackberry Compote posted on this website. The recipe was so amaizing wonderful. I did not know what Panna Cotta was, so I looked it up. I must say, this raw version is much better than the original italian Panna Cotta. At least, in my opinion it is. My husband found this recipe incredibly delicious. We found it to be a kind of soft cheese cake like. We have never tried Panna cotta, but that seems more to be like kind of a flan, according to the pictures we saw on the Internet.

So, we liked it so much, that I decided to come up with another version using other fruits, and I will like to shre it with you all. I hope that the creator of the original recipe does not mind the modifications. Surely not! For the panna cotta, I used 3 medium very ripe sweet fresh prunes. They are oval form, of dark violet skin, but light color inside, and a very sweet and ripe nectarin. For the Compote, I used a very big, ripe and sweet mandarin with some extra fresh sweet orange juice.

I hope you like it. Mine is in the freezer, but I already tasted the panna cotta mixture and the compote and they were delicious.

And, we just ate a piece each a couple of minutes ago.

Smoothe_thumb

This plum smoothie has a pleasant taste ~ not your ordinary smoothie.

This is my nightly addiction, love the Middle Eastern flavors and it takes about 5 minutes to concoct. It’s all to taste, I like to think of it as my calcium supplement!

Dsc00002-large_thumb

A creamy, savory, crunchy and quick snack when I’m hungry for a sweet treat. (It’s my birthday this month, so I used it as an excuse to treat myself to an extravagant jar of raw organic almond butter—delicious!).

Apple_carrot_thumb

This recipe is everywhere online or in juicing books for a great easy to try juice. But i didn’t see it on Gone Raw, so I thought I would add it with a pic. Sorry to anyone if this has already been posted.

I don’t like super-sweet things, so the granny smith’s were perfect for me, but you could substitute your favourite apple!

Img_7078-large_thumb

Best pudding I have ever had.

I wanted to make some pastries and had some of Alissa Cohen’s cheese crepe filling left over…so I created a pastry around the filling.

DELICIOUS!!!

very simple green smoothie.

Splendid early morning java… wont knock you out…but will rev you up… delightful.. enzymatic and smooth!!!

My breakfast fast special.

Place in Vitamix and step-up to high setting unitl thoroughly blended. Add/reduce liquid/sweetner/ice to your liking.

Apricot-prunes-oatmeal-cookies_thumb

I love cookies. The recipes on this website and other websites have inspired me of making my own raw cookies. I love oatmeal, and specially in cookies, so I came up with this recipe.

Chewy and firm apricot-prunes cookies, no need for dehydratation, with oatmeal (soaked raw steal-cut oat grots). A perfect breakfast with almond milk, a day snack, dessert or late night treat. My husband loved them!

Acai_thumb

I LOVE acai, but all of the ways around here to drink it are either blended with soymilk(JambaJuice) or sweetened with cane juice and pasteurized. I was so excited today when I was walking down the frozen foods aisle in my local Whole Foods to find raw acai!! So, I whipped up this drink and I am in acai heaven!

This is my first good attempt at trying to make a Raw Coca-Cola. I had a taste for a 7-11 Coke Slurpee last week and I thought – I really gotta work on the Raw Coke recipe.

My bf said this came pretty close so I posting for you all to enjoy. I plan to improve it by adding some sasaprilla to the recipe -when I can find some! :)

Update: I made this with sassaprilla powder (you can buy at mountainroseherbs.com) and it helps with the bitterness of the kola nut. I also changed the cinammon, added lemon juice and agave nectar and increased the vanilla.

NOTE: This recipe is for home use only. My bf and I sell this for our raw food home business so this is not for commerical sale use! Please respect that! ;)

This coconut milk does not take too much time but is well worth the effort! It is the best milk I have ever had! Better than the cows milk I remember. It also tastes great plain. No need to add any honey or such to it.

This is the EASIEST most SIMPLE oatmeal. However it is supper filling and warm. Whenever I’m craving bread and warmth, I make this. It takes about 2 mins to make.

I made this with an avocado instead of leafy greens and was pleasantly surprised with the results. This was a beautiful pink color, thick and creamy.

Pa100493_thumb

It is satisfying to add various creamy consistencies to your creations. Here is one you don’t come across often. Use it in your favorite recipes or just with fruit, granola, to prepare different spreads or by itself with a bit of sweetener such an agave or touch of raw honey.

This smoothie is delicious. You can vary as you please and don’t worry if you don’t have all of the ingrediants, I usually just throw in whatever is in my fridge, but I find citrus flavoring and agave syrup cut the greens, parsley and cilantro taste.

Calories – approximately 350 [if you use water instead of juice, this will cut calories by about 100]

A great way to use sesame pulp for something sweet.

Dsc_0447_thumb

This breakfast scramble is so good! You can actually have it for any meal! :)

A great way to extract minerals from sea water in a way that the body can absorb. We cannot absorb inorganic minerals – they must be processed through a plant first. Wheatgrass has been tested to absorb all the minerals which are present in seawater, which makes this the best plant for the job. It is said that the minerals present in the ocean are in the same ratio as ideal to the human body. Ah, I love the ocean :)

sweet and creamy chocolate RAW nectar of the gods! this is a sweeter/creamier version of the first recipe i posted :) YUM!

003_thumb

A delicious, nutritious start to your day! I eat this for lunch or diner too! Use fresh, organic fruit from your local farmer’s market. Any combination works! Enjoy

Crepes_thumb

ok, it seems crepes are in the raw psyche this morning. I got up and made these first thing so they were ready mid morning.

Img_2438_thumb

This smoothie takes me to another world…..!

So simple and amazing! As you can see from the picture, the color is gorgeous and is very light and frothy…

not really sure what just happened but it turned so thick my spoon could barely move in it!

Aloe loaded with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and one of the most amazing super foods on the planet. Some of common reasons are Energy, Immune Function and Support, Digestion, Skin Regeneration with Collagen and Elastin…

Just made this tonite. It’s lite and refreshing…hits the spot!

This is vibrant green, creamy, apple and strawberry flavored. I find that after I drink it, I feel really happy!

Img_1233_thumb

I feel like a million bucks when I drink this smoothie. It is a very powerful smoothie. I love it.

Creamy milk or pouring cream I used to pour over the crepes I made yesterday.

Pancakes2_thumb

This pancakes are out of this world. They are better than any non-raw pancakes I have ever had in my entire life. Who knew that eating raw pancakes would literally “take the cake”. You can vary these up with any kind of berry, or any kind of pancake “flavor” you want. Oh, best of all, kids love them too!!! Enjoy!

This is usually what I drink in the morning, give or take whatever I have on hand. It really fills you up and you can last all the way until lunch time. Basically, it’s just a base that you can add or take away any ingredients that you feel like. I play with this one a lot, but you can’t go wrong with it this one :)

This is my very first green smoothie! I think it’d be a great “starter smoothie” for the other raw newbies like me. I love smoothies but was wary about the greens…you really can’t even taste the spinach, it blends right in and makes a yummy sweet smoothie that’s not TOO sweet. I added honey and spices out of paranoia more than anything…they’re really optional, you don’t really need them. The fruit is pretty much enough. The flax is nice but not absolutely necessary either. I like my smoothies thick and cold, so I added ice and froze my berries the night before.

Chia seeds have were used by the ancient Incan soldiers during their long expeditions. Many of them would only consume 1 tsp in water. Chia seed forms a gelatin when placed in water which allows the body to remain hydrated for longer periods of time. This gelatin, which is actually soluble fiber within the seed, also soothes the bodys organs and creates a barrier between carbohydrates preventing spikes in blood sugar.Truly an awesome food.

A sweet treat to beat the summer heat! ;-)

This is delicious.

Smoothie_thumb

Since my local healthfood store finally got a shipment of young conconuts that weren’t spoiled I thought it deserved its own recipe. I love smoothies and I’m always looking for new flavors. I think young coconut water tastes heavenly so I knew I had to make a smoothie with it.

Forget those horrible sugary concoctions. This one’s full of electrolytes & healthy stuff like potassium.

A wonderful “get you going” salsa for breakfast or anytime.

This is tangy, sweet and the texture from the berries makes it almost creamy.

This is great for anyone who want to put on muscle. Now remember just because you eat this doesn’t mean you’ll get big. You need an intense training, overload. Even so it takes time and even more time for woman so don’t be hesitant.

I love my morning green smoothies, and this one is no exception! If I close my eyes, I swear I can feel the sand between my toes and hear the ocean in the distance. I only had shredded dried coconut on hand, but I’m sure you could make this with coconut water instead of the filtered water and omit the dried stuff. Also, if you like your smoothies to be a little thicker, I’d cut back on the water a little bit.

Indulge’s recipe from GLiving.tv. Super yummo!

This was a school lunch favourite when I was a kid. I love the pasta and eat it most days.

This tastes like “Fruity Pebbles” cereal!

My bf actually made this on the fly and he says these are the ingredients he used but I can’t vouch for the completel accuracy. But it tastes like Fruity Pebbles cereal which I used to love so had to post. No picture because i drank too quickly! But it turns out very orange!

Nice pliable wrap that is vegetable based. Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices, onion etc. Very easy to make.

So I decided to experiment today with making a soup and not just a juice or smoothie and liked my creation. If you like a slightly warming blend- this would be good for you and you could opt not to add the walnuts if you choose- the soup is not real thick- so you could add more or less tea water to achieve the desired consistency.

This is a variation of the berry nut breakfast bars in Matt Amsden’s “Rawvolution”. My boyfriend wanted to pack them with some super foods. They are a handy, on-the-go, breakfast – and a nutritional powerhouse. So easy to make! Variations of this are infinite. I want to try some apple cinnamon ones, and banana walnut! These things are filling, and perfect for my busy work schedule. I just pop one in my purse in the morning, and go!

i love eating greens in every possible way. however sometimes i’m just not in the mood for the regular green smoothie – give me some texture!! i’m not a baby!

I have just discovered adding fresh herbs to my morning smoothie (thyme and rosemary are also lovely in green smoothies) The chocolate and basil flavours melt perfectly with the fresh spinach and ginger. This will pick you up out of morning fog and hopefully have you feeling love all day!

In my first week raw, this has been my breakfast and lunch every day, it’s kept me full and satisfied while I transition, and it tastes so good!

Cherries are in season – so let’s have a delicious & nutritious smoothie!

This was inspires by rawmumma’s raw-eo smoothie, and perked me up very nicely before I had to go to work.

wonderful for hot summer days, as a snack or for breakfast.

Great as a smoothie and for a creamy soup, omit syrup and add an other clove.

I don’t like asparagus but this way I love it!

This is for those like me who can’t be bothered to actually make the cookies. My daughter insisted I post this, she loved it. This is my daily afternoon comfort food.

I sprouted WAY too many buckwheat sprouts and I was looking for a way to use them up. I was also working at the Hospitality Kitchen and they needed people to take the extra bananas. Naturally, I volunteered. (Who could let bananas go to waste?!) Anyways, I wound up with tons of bananas that were perfectly ripe and won’t last that much longer. So I put the buckwheat and bananas together with a little vanilla, agave, and spice and it turned out a lot better than I expected.

Another name for this smoothie could be “Pretty in Pink.” This smoothie is very creamy, frothy, and refreshing…Verry tasty (;

Whether you’re very busy and in or a rush, or a poor college kid who can’t afford a decadent dessert, or just new to raw foods and are still hungry after a salad (or all three!), this is the snack/dessert for you. It’s simple and sweet. I got this recipe from my sister. It’s a lot like elizabeth’s “Chewy Banana Oaties” but without the oaties…

Great before or after workouts. Enjoy!

Just mix all together….soooooo goood ad so simple….tastes like a gourmet dessert

sorry for the mix up! edited it…

This is Karen Knowler’s recipe : http://karenknowler.typepad.com

But i wanted to share it because its the perfect pudding (or breakfast!) for the summer, as its made totally out of fruit! And it doesnt need added sweetner(s)! Plus It’s quick, easy, healthy and delicious!

Time to add some extra benefits to you plain water smoothies :) Many of you may have never heard of Pau D’Arco, but now this gives you a chance to explore your world of exotic and beneficial herbs. And always remember to buy in bulk whenever possible to save your wallet.

I just bought and opened my first coconut! I wanted something cold and chocolately and this is what I came up with! =)

I made this this morning, it was a really filling breakfast smoothie, which kept hunger at bay for 4 hours…

This yummy pudding can be made in minutes and it totally satisfying for those bananas pudding cravings. Add raw cookies or nuts for extra flavor if you would like.

Delicious tropical mix of mandarins, banana, papaya, mango, and coconut. Add pineapple if available. Best if organic.

Sticky sweet fun little bar of energy. This one I planned lol.

There’s been a lot of talk about fresh Aloe Vera recently, and how it can be difficult to mix just right to get rid of the bitter taste, so I thought I’d share the way I do it. I LOVE this smoothie and feel amazing after drinking it! In-love style amazing. (well… almost!) <3

This is a really easy granola that reminds me of fall. I’m a big fan of cinnamon and so this satisfies my sweet tooth and is helpin’ me out with nutrients, too! I get two SAD people with one nut! hehe. I crack myself up. ;P

But it does make your house smell pretty good.

This is a wonderful dish. I eat it for breakfast almost every day. I slice a banana or two on top of it. This dish is from my friends Lillian and Eddie at Rawsoul.com.

This shake is very similar to the ones you find at the store. I took the ingredients off the container from Glaser Farms. They are an awsome organic raw food farm in Miami.

Bmore and enjoy!

when i was a kid i couldn’t understand why my mom was always tired and didn’t what to play, i now understand, i have ten month old who is particularly energetic and even at 21 i find myself not being able to keep up, i refuse to be that mom and this is the best way i’ve found to be the play mate i always wanted but for her, fully rounded energy

My lavender has just come into bloom and I couldn’t wait to use it! This was a lovely dessert but would also make a great breakfast. I like it quite sweet but you can skip the dates if you like.

A soft raw bread to eat with soup in the Autumn.

My new favorite light meal

It’s simple, but I hope you like this little snack I either eat like applesauce, or as a spread. The raisins are plenty sweet enough for me, and the whole thing evokes lovely peanut butter and jelly memories (although I like this much better it’s still a nice memory trigger that makes me smile).

A bright and sunny treat! I had it for breakfast but any time is great!
