Serves 1 to 3

Sweet and creamy way to get your papaya seeds to do a nice cleanse!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Papaya Seeds (or the seeds from one papaya you've already enjoyed), Soaked in water overnight
  • 1 cup Green Tea (either sun or heated), Frozen into cubes
  • ½ Cantaloup, Cut into chunks
  • ½ Honeydew, Cut into chunks
  • 1 Really soft Banana, Chunked
  • 1 tablespoon Sweetner of choice (I don't really care what you use, just pick one), :P
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • pinch Salt
  • Drizzle of Date Syrup (Optional)

Preparation

Save papaya seeds from one papaya and soak in water overnight in the fridge.

Prepare the green tea and freeze overnight in the freezer.

Combine melons, banana, sweetner, vanilla and salt the next day and blend with the tea cubes, it will get frothy and floaty.

Pour papaya seeds into a glass and pour the smoothie over it.

Drizzle the date syrup over it.

Suck it up with a big straw or just drink it down without chewing. It should go down smooth.

I have found that they are excellent for cleaning out your colon, they are also anti-inflammatory, anthelmintic (Anthelmintics or antihelminthics are drugs that expel parasitic worms (helminths) from the body, by either stunning or killing them. They may also be called vermifuges (stunning) or vermicides (killing)), and analgesic, and they are used to treat stomachache and fungal infections. thank you winkipedia.

Harmonylia, I’m curious… Why do they need to be soaked??? Does the bubble around the seed dissolve???

I soaked them overnight out of needing to keep them fresh, and since I haven’t tinkered with the recipe using fresh seeds, I put it exactly how I did it. The soaking seemed to enhance their round shape and soft bubble. No other reason lol.

Sooo, the seeds digest as they pass through your system? I was told that they are extremely bitter, and not to accidentaly blemd one. I just love the picture! The seeds really contrast well with the liquid and make a nice looking drink!

Hi Gorwmom, the seeds actually go through your system, I believe the outer soft shell is digested and the cores come out the other side whole, scrubbing your insides nicely and yes, they are an aquired taste, almost peppery, so unlss you like them, just suck them up and they will slide down easily in the smoothie. I don’t recommend blending them at all.

My daughter brought me back a bottle of delicious papaya SEED dressing from her Hawaiian vacation, and I’ve been unable to find it anywhere here, but you can definitely eat those seeds. They were blended up pretty small in the dressing. Harmonylia, do you have an idea of how long one can store the seeds in the fridge before doing something w/ them? Will they keep a couple days in a container?

Hi risnwthhim, you can definitely eat the seeds, I actually like them, they are a bit bitter, but peppery. I have stored them for about 5 days in some filtered water, they keep just fine for me in a reuseable container.
