Choco spinach shake

2 big glasses

Here is an indulgent and delicious way of getting those greens in you. This is both the yummiest and healthiest chocolate shake ever! Keeps you full and energised for ages.

Do not drink close to bedtime unless you want to stare at the ceiling. The cacao can give you a real buzz!

Ingredients

  • 4 bananas
  • 1 juice young coconut
  • 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder, (or to taste)
  • 2 hand-fulls baby spinach

Preparation

If unsure how to open the coconut, check out these great instructions: http://www.rawguru.com/html/openyoungcoconut.html. Drain the juice and keep the young coconut meat for another recipe.

Chuck all the ingredients in the blender, and blend till smooth and thick. Add a little water if you want a thinner consistency, or blend a few ice cubes in. Depending on how chocolatie you want it, put more or less powder in the mix.

Awesome! I used about a third of the raw cacao powder than is in your recipe and left out the young coconut milk since I don’t have one (used a litte H20 instead). Yummers! I will definitely make this again.

Mmm! One thing I love about this diet is lots of coconut! With cacao is even better!

I wonder if coconut cream with water would work in this recipe? Bring on the cracao ; ) !!!!!

Wow… I made this for breakfast today, with plain water instead of the coconut water and the addition of some hemp protein powder and a little cinnamon. I was buzzing all morning!

I made this but used water + shelled hempseeds instead of the coconut, and made the addition of 2 soaked dates since I like it sweet. It was fabulous. =D
