Simple Avocado-Flax Love
Serves 1 as a very light snack
This is a pretty simple recipe… it’s so simple I almost feel like I’m wronging you by calling it a recipe. I had the spices around the house and always have flax seed. + I LOVE avocados. This Avocado-Flax love concoction idea sprouted after I found this simple-flaxy-love idea: http://www.goneraw.com/recipes/3593-easy-flax-grated-cheese-
Enjoy! :)
Ingredients
- 1 avocado, sliced
- ¼ cup golden flax seeds, ground
- 1½ teaspoons sea salt
- 1½ teaspoons pepper, ground
- 1½ teaspoons fennel seed, ground
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ¼ teaspoon celery salt
- ¼ teaspoon mustard seed, ground
- dash cayenne pepper
Preparation
Combine the ground the flax seeds, salt, pepper, and spices. Cut an avocado in half and then into 1/2 of an inch thick slices. Press the avocado slices into the dry flax/herb mix and VOILA! A light, I-could-eat-this-forever food combination! I’m sure there are many other sliced vegetables that would be great pressed into the flax mix, I’m thinking about trying sliced zucchini and then dehydrating it.

Ooooo, I like the idea of pressing veggies into some spices and dehydrating them. Sometimes you just want something a little bit different. Thanks

The zucchini in it sounds GOOOOOD!!! Even if you don’t dehydrate it! Thanks :)

oh i tried the flax ground with all these spices over zucchini noodles tonight (with some dehydrated red pepper, enochi mushrooms, and onions—coated in evoo and lemon juice oh my!). it was sensational! the fennel addition is most brilliant!

I’m glad all of you like this, too!
pianissima: Until I just looked up that “evoo” meant extra virgin olive oil, I thought this was some kind of new food! What you ate sounds AMAZING.

I just tried this tonight—terrific. My non-raw, meat eating hubby liked it too.
