Sounds great! I bought some oat and buckweat groat yesterday at my organic coop and the friendly employee told me the 2 together was delicious! He also mentionned not to soak the buckweat groats more than 10 to 20 minutes because they loose their nutrients after that.Sproutpeople dot com says if you leave them longer they might not sprout! http://www.sproutpeople.com/seed/bwgroats.html Just thought this was important to mention :-)

I just soak them for 20 minutes too. Otherwise they turn to mush.

Montrawal, Thank you for sharing that. I am still new to the whole sprouting thing. I’ve made this and another grawnola twice and never had a problem with the groats not sprouting- in fact they grew super fast! But, I didn’t know that they would have absorbed the needed amount of water with a quick soak just as well! Thank you! It IS very important to riinse these very very well- after the soak and during the sprouting. Yup!

Looks great Angela! Welcome aboard! About the sprouting, I always consult SproutPeople for times – they’re the best.

This looks delicious. Gonna have to try it. I soak buckwheat groats, rinse, and then dehydrate them for a raw version of rice krispies. Only better. My daughter loves them! Thanks for this new good idea! Redbird
