Bee Green Smoothie

Serves two big smoothies

Really gets you energized in the morning. Only use bee products that are local to your area, otherwise stick to other sweeteners like dates. A pear might also go really nice in place of the bee products. My local coops discount fruit bins have been overflowing with perfectly ripe mangos and pineapples.

Ingredients

  • 2 mangos, peeled and cut from pit
  • ½ pineapple, cubed
  • ½ cup H2O
  • 1 tablespoon green powder (I like vitamineral greens),
  • 1 inch piece, honeycomb
  • 2 teaspoons local bee pollen

Preparation

Put everything in a blender and process till smooth.

circleakitchen: You mention using dates in this recipe, which sounds like a great substitution. Would this substitute for both the honeycomb and bee pollen?

It would be a substitution for the honey comb. The bee pollen is can’t really be replaced though because it add little specks of sweet honey goodness. You could just leave it out if you wanted a vegan smoothie.
