Raw Applesauce

This is a great easy dish for raw babies. I often serve it with some coconut cream and hemp seeds on top.
Make sure you use crisp apples like Gala or Pink Lady. Feel free to vary the spices – pumpkin pie spice is also tasty. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice to preserve the color, if you like.
Ingredients:
2 organic apples
1 pinch cardamon
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
Preparation:
Grate the apples by hand or using a food processor. You do not need to peel them (unless you are feeding this to a young baby). Sprinkle with the spices. Serve.

Ooh this is nice, I was wondering if you could make applesauce without heating the apples. lol I'm sure my applesauce had NO nutrients left last time I made it... :p I will definitely be making it like this from now on! Thanks!

I'm definatly going to keep this recipe in mind (if I don't make it for myself first) for my daughter, well after she's born and is ready to start trying foods that is, since there's no baby foods available where I live I plan to make them myself and that way she can be a raw baby and I hope will be a model for some of my in-laws and friends to see how well a baby does when given raw.. Here in Kurdistan they just start giving the babies food at around 6-7 months.

I used to have grated apple with some saltanas as a really yummy breakfast or snack. The spices are a good idea. :)
