power bars

Servings: 
makes 12 bars

simple sweet snack

Ingredients: 

1 cup dried black mission figs, stems removed
½ cup medjool dates, pitted
1 cup chia seeds
½ cup hemp seeds
½ cup sesame seeds
water
¼ cup goji berries, optional

Preparation: 

1.soak figs and dates in water till softened,about 1 hour,drain.

2.process in large processor bowl fitted with “S” blade.

3.pulse in seeds until well incorporated.if mixture seems too sticky,add more seeds.you can add some cocoa powder if you want a chocolate version

4.press very firmly into plastic wrap lined pan(approx11”x7”).

5.sprinkle with extra sesame and goji berries(not shown),and press in firmly.

6.chill till set,at least 1 hour.

7.lift out by plastic wrap,cut into 12 bars or as desired.

Omg I am so embarrassed; My bars do notreally look like yours so I kept re-reading the instructions and arrghhh, I just saw the first ingredient is for figs not dates, LOL (well I guess i know for next time)...

ps, I did use fresh shaved coconut instead of goji berries and the coconut was so yummmmmyyyyyy!!!

This is the first raw recipe besides chocolate that I have made that has turned out; Yayyyyyy!!!
I am so happy to have found these bars which do not require a dehydrator. With practice hopefully mine will one day look as great as yours, :)

hi hemp33! i do keep them in the fridge for freshness,i wrap each one in waxed paper so i can grab one and go!the coconut sounds like a great addition:)

These look great! Now I don't have to power up the dehydrator. I think I'll add some coconut flake along with the goji berries. Should they be kept in the fridge?
