Papaya Seed Cleanse
Here in Brasil ingesting WHOLE Papaya seeds is a traditional home remedy for cleansing. The traditional healers and herbalists say it is especially great for cleaning out Parasites, cleansing the intestines and constipation. It is still very common for mothers to give it to their children.
Eat: 1 small papaya OR 1/2 a large papaya per day and swallow seeds
whole.
AND continue eating whatever you regularly eat. Its great even for people who eat are transitioning or eat regular junk.
Important: THE SEEDS MUST BE SWALLOWED WHOLE. NO CHEWING!
Duration: Up to 7 days. The number of days depends on how “clean” your system already is. In as little as 3 days you may feel great or it may take up to a week.
Tip: It is easiest if you swallow a spoonful of papaya with whole seeds. You may have soft stool as it is a natural laxative, afterwards you will feel lighter.
Good cleansing!

im going to try drinking the seeds in a smoothie. I wonder if this is true for other fruit seeds as well?
2.
Is it bad to chew the seeds? I just ate a small papaya, seeds and all and didn't realize until after that you advised swallowing the seeds whole. :S
3.
Tell me please, why could you not throw them in a blender with some juice? Do they lose something in the grinding process...hm...
4.
yeah! i have a pawpaw waiting for me in my fruit bowl. i heard you can also dry the seeds and use as peppercorn.

Good for parasites? Sounds easier than some of the "crazy herbal mixes" I have seen on the internet for just that purpose. I am not sure I can swallow them (texture is very important to me and they sound slippery) but I think I will give it a try!

You donīt have to eat it on an empty stomach., but if you do itīll work faster. Remember itīs goping to clean your intestinal track so be ready to "go" and I mean poop.

Papayas should taste slightly sweet. Not too sweet. And should be an orange-pink color. If you have brown spots its gone rotten and that is toxic and yucky. cut out the rotten part and throw it out!

I love this! Thank you. I actually found halves of small papayas for under a dollar each at Whole Foods, but I think I am going to support my local Mexican store and buy even cheaper ones from them, since both are imported and conventional (not organic).
Chrissypie, papaya can be an acquired taste for some, it was for me. It needs to be soft, and they have a rather strong taste that I interpreted as "putrid"--but when you really expose your taste buds to it, you come to experience the complexity of flavor. It is soft and sweet and it feels so good cleaning out the body and aiding digestion.

Thanks for the tip, that's really neat to know! I haven't tried Papaya myself so I hope the taste suits me. One question, should it be eaten on an empty stomach in the morning? Or does it matter when?

How is a good papaya supposed to taste???
I've never had one before and I just bought one at the grocery store after reading about the "papaya cleanse". I went to take a big bite and it was AWFUL!! I made my boyfriend try it and he spit it out almost instaniously!
I'm hoping it was just an overly ripe one or something...
I love all kinds of fruit and am very open minded so I'm thinking it probably was a bad one.
Any suggestions on how to pick a good one?

i got papaya & mango confused ... for the past few minutes i kept thinking, "what!?!?" ... whoa so glad it's papaya and not mango.

See me eating my papaya with seeds in the photo?

If anything Í would say stay hydrated. Its actually a pretty smooth, natural intestinal cleanse.

I love papaya and will do this next time they're in season here. Do you need to follow any other regime or restrictions during the cleanse?
