This goes fantastic with bananas or any type of sweetener and some cacao and maca powder. This milk is full of calcium and healthy plant fat.

Recipe Directions

Put 1 cup of water in a blender and add the sesame seeds and coconut. Blend into a paste and add 2 more cups of water and blend well again. Add the remaining 2 cups of water and blend one more time. Strain the black liquid through a thin meshed strainer or nut milk bag. Keep in the fridge for 2-3 days.

This could become a really goo post long sun drink if I used coconut water instead of regular. Thanks, humanimal.

Awesome recipe as usual Humanimal! This may be a stupid question, but could you use white sesame seeds instead of black? Is there much of a nutritional difference?

thanks eceryone! spirited mama you could use white sesame seeds. I just used black sesame seeds because they a terrific blood builder and have a more robust taste. They both are very high in calcium though. Make sure that you always buy sesame seed unhulled or the nutrition with be decreased significantly. Enjoy! :)

Wow Humanimal, this is really great. I didn't have sesame seeds, but I did have Artisana black sesame tahini - which is just raw black sesame seeds anyway, heh. So I used a big fat spoonful of that, and added 3 dates, a banana, an apple, a little agave, a squeeze of lemon juice, fresh grated ginger and cinnamon. And big gobs of spinach, because, apparently, it's impossible for me to blend a drink without making it green! LOL ;o)

Now that I look at it, I completely changed your recipe. Ha! Just the sesame-coconut base was the same. I haven't done that before and I really like it... and jeez do I have some energy now! Vroom-a-zoom-zoom!

I just made this as promised and this milk rocks the color and the mild taste. I added a Tbs of maca and Tbs of agave and just sipped away. This will become a staple in my refrigerator. I just looked at your profile Humananimal you are spitting the recipes out.. WOW

I just bought some black sesame seeds yesterday. Can't wait to try this. Do you have to soak the seeds first? They are so small I wouldn't think it necessary.
