This is a modified Martha Stewart Recipe…I removed the brown sugar and alcohol. Delicious!
2 Lemons, Quartered
1 cup Fresh mint leaves
½ Medium watermelon (about 9 lbs.), rind removed, cut into chunks
add agave, or other sweetener to taste
1. Squeeze lemons into a large pitcher; add squeezed lemon quarters. Add mint and sweetener; mash with a wooden spoon until mint is bruised
2. In a blender, puree watermelon in batches until smooth; pour through a fine-mesh sieve into pitcher. Stir to combine. Serve with ice.
*Stays for about 3 days in the fridge
I backed off the lemon a little, left out the sweetener and threw in a few frozen local strawberries - ooh, baby. Summer in a glass!
i luuuurv watermelon juice and this lemonade was fantastic !! i was hoping to keep some for tomorrow but after lettin my teenage son and his friends try a sip the whole pitcher was gone in 2 minutes flat ! thanks for such a simple but beautiful recipe :)
This is great timing. After 3 years of fighting it, My DH has finely joined me in the raw food eating. He loves lemons and watermelon . A nice surprise when he gets home from work. Thanks double.
This sounds wonderful. I just brought home a watermelon yesterday - coincidence? Peace, karuna. :)
MMMMmmmmmmmm! This was great!
i used mint from my garden... If you cant find organic mint in the store, maybe a local farmers market will have it.
Sounds good.. what about buying mint not organic???
