Lovin-the-Chickies Pate
Servings:
1-4

Simple yummy scramble made with sunflower seeds - takes only minutes to make and oh so tasty!
This recipe was one that I modified from Ani Phyo. While Ani suggests that it can serve four I found that it was just enough for one hungry Michal!!

Ingredients:

2 cups sunflower seeds (soaked then dried)

2 teaspoons tumeric

1/2 cup water

black pepper to taste

Preparation:

In batches place your sunflower seeds into your food processor and process until a crumbly-powder like substance is formed. Add water, tumeric and pepper and process until mixed well. It will not be creamy smooth, and it should have small chunks.

The best part about this recipe is then you can use the chickie-friendly pate and whatever vegetables, herbs or other favorite ingredients that you like to make delicious scrambles. You can serve this in wraps or on top of a huge salad.

Enjoy (:

I made it today and I added cayenne, adobo and lots of pepper. I mixed onion, tomatoe and yellow pepper into the blender after I added the sunflower seeds and pulvarized those first. I spread it like a pate on a romaine lettuce leaf, rolled them up and ate like 3 big one's. It was goooooooodddddddd! Thanks for the recipe.

I'm making this tomorrow! I'm going to use it in a Wrap instead of on a bed of lettuce.

3. I like using half pumpkin

Submitted by cupcakes revenge on July 17, 2009 - 5:40pm.

I like using half pumpkin seeds, half sunflower seeds in this recipe.

In terms of amount made, I find it varies which of her recipes I make. Also, I think that with some of the things that are four servings (like the pizza for example), although I eat all of it, it is meant to be 4 servings...oops :)

4. I guess you must be really

I guess you must be really hungry to eat the whole batch- that's almost 1700 calories (and 140g of fat) from 2 cups of sunflower seeds :)

6. WOW! I find the other extreme

WOW! I find the other extreme with quite a few of Ani's recipes and tend to have way more than I need. It does look yummy.
