jerk yam fries
all i want is hot spicy food right now… had an idea for jerk seasoning on something raw… found a jerk tofu recipe of the post punk kitchen site and just changed maple syrup to agave and chucked in some basil by accident. this is amazing, by the way… it even rocked by my non raw curry lovin husband’s standards… oh, its also a good idea to play bob marley while you prepare this…erie
2 medium to large size yams, cut into chip shapes
2 limes, juice and zest
olive
oil
agave
2 tablespoon braggs/or soy sauce
2 tablespoon dried thyme
dried basil
2 hot peppers, i used green ones, seeds and
all
pinch cayenne
cinnamon
2 teaspoon allspice
ginger, lots
this takes a little time to prepare, but not really… its more a thing you have to just let sit and soak, i like slow food.
chop yams and soak overnight in salty water. i just left it out on the bench
in the morning make marinade by blending everything together. drain yams and pour marinade over. put in the fridge
and let it chill out and soak up the flavour all day…
when dinner time comes around, grab some lettuce and sprouts and make the simplest salad ever, pull out the yam fries, serve with the salad or if you want to complicate things it would go nice with a burger of some sort, its up to you… eat, enjoy, live, love and wish you were in

i dont have a dehydrator so i leave stuff out in the sun to dry out - is that bad?

i have been wondering what to do with yams raw, do they get soft enough to eat by soaking? could one dehydrate yams?

sorry about the lack of measurements... and whats with all the 2 of everything? i forgot to add onion to the marinade list, but im taking a break from onions/garlic... add them in if you want a more traditional taste
