easy. apparently this is a terrible food combo, but i’m not even totally raw yet, so i think i need to tackle that before i start worrying about natural hygiene.
Ingredients:
dates
walnuts
cashews
Preparation:
pit dates. put about equal amounts of dates and nuts in food processor. pulse. it shouldn’t stick together much on its own but when you squeeze it together it should stick. squeeze into desired shape. enjoy and refrigerate extras for a quick snack.

1. sugar with protein, starch or
sugar with protein, starch or acid leads to fermentation, a sour stomach and discomfort. when protein or starch foods are combined with sugars, they may remain in the stomach almost twice as long as is normal. the same principle applies to the use of any sugar, honey, molasses or syrup, which are especially prone to ferment if used with mixed meals. of course, these types of sugars should not be used at all—with anything. Refined sugar robs the body of B-vitamins and throws a "monkey-wrench" into the digestive machinery. The other "sweeteners" are almost as bad. DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER!

I thought dried fruits combined fine with nuts. So if you used dried dates, there wouldn't be a problem.

All you have to do is eat the fruit first, wait 30 - 45 minutes (depending on your individual digestion) and then eat the nuts - if the combination doesn't bother you then keep eating it - just most people will have problems with this combination.

so i won't need to give up fruit and nut butter smoothies? yay!
but, damn, i do usually put a banana in there :(
5.
Aw man... and bananas and dates are SO yummy with nuts :(

No, actually fruits and nuts can go together but not sweet fruits and nuts. Acid fruits go with nuts. Acid fruits include citrus, pineapples, strawberries, etc. Sweet fruit such as dates, persimmon, figs, bananas, etc. do not combine well with nuts. After you are raw and clean you will notice the combination will not feel well after you eat them. Chemically the protein in the nut will neutralize the sugars in the fruits when they combine with the acids and enzymes in your stomach. This means that neither the fruit nor the nut gets digested and that can lead to trouble.

i guess you aren't supposed to have fruit and nut together. these are super good, easy, and cheap. sometimes i just stuff dates with a couple of nuts, too.
