Hello Lover Dark Chocolate Bar
This is an adaptation of Angie’s great dipping chocolate for the serious chocolate addict. This should take care of those early “I need chocolate now cravings.” It will harden almost right away in the vitamix to the consistency of soft wax so you
can push into little molds or roll into balls for a daily fix.
I ate it right away (hence, no photo) but I’m guessing you could roll this out with a rolling pin and cut shapes, bars, etc. I’ll play with it some more, take pics and update.
.33 cup raw cacao
2 dates
¼ cup liquified coconut oil
Put all in the vitamix, roll into little balls and refrigerate or freeze for harder chocolate.
Chocolate is to everyone’s taste so if you like it more sweet, add another date. If you need it
softer, add more coconut oil.

thanks for the info angie.

artzyfartzy - nibs are just broken pieces of beans. sunfood.com also sells the powder - it's the same company as naturesfirstlaw.com, they just changed their name to Sunfood Nutrition.

My experience with raw cacao nibs tells me they will not give you this creamy texture, but they would be a great addition in the end! A little crunch w/ some extra antioxidants. I'm going to try that too. You can get the raw cacao powder from Naturesfirstlaw.com or from amazon.com. It runs about $25 for a huge jar, which lasts our family of 5 about 2 months. between all of us, we can get some great versions going. I was already thinking about my spearmint leaves!
artzyfartzy, we've used the nibs for chocolate banana shakes with no problem. Do you have the High setting on the Vitamix-- The one that makes smoothies out of wood blocks??

This sounds great! I just bought whole raw cacao beans from my health food market. will those work? I have a vitamix and tried making a shake with them but they didn't disolve completely ( which I didnt mind in the shake - but I'd like a smooth consistency in a chocolate bar.

What a compliment! Thanks for this recipe :) I'm definitely going to have to play with some small cookie cutters when I make this one!
