Green N Good Milkshake
Servings:
me and only me. I am selfish. NO SHARING GLARGIN!!!

I call it a milkshake cause that’s what it reminds me of. Thick creamy and MMMM… Although it should be kept in mind that it has been five years since I had a “real” milkshake so… heheh, I’m sure a triple thick Rotten Ronnie fan would violently disagree!

Ingredients:

1 small bartlett pear, cored and chunked
2 fresh or soaked dried dates, chopped
a blender FULL of greens. ( or as much as you like)
1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
1 teaspoon chia seeds
¾ cup almond/hempseed "mylk" (or water)
1 tablespoon raw hemp protein powder (yes, it exists :)

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients EXCEPT the pear for about two minutes on high. ( This will depend on how much greens you used and what kind of blender you are using). Turn off blender. ( heh heh…) add pear and blend for another minute until it’s CREAMY!!!

I love this after a workout in the morning. Yum Yum. I usually use a mix of organic spinach with a few leaves of black kale, or just spinach. Sometimes collard greens. My six year old bro asks for a taste almost every saturday morning. He’ll make a face and stick out his tongue when i’ve put “to much green stuff” in. But he keeps asking for a taste :)
Unfortunately he’s the only one in my family brave enough to try it… ( big babies…lol)

This is good stuff! I didn't get the banana taste like everyone else, but that's alright. I had to make it a bit sweeter because I added too much spinach haha. Creamy indeed!

mmm I made this today without the hemp protein and adding a few blueberries that I needed to get rid of- it turned out a bit less green and more brown with the combination of blueberries and a spring mix of greens, but tasted amazing!

AWESOME! So glad you like it aredesmond2. Yah I make my own mylk. I usually use about 1/2 cup hemp seeds and 1/4 - 1/2 cup almonds (soaked) with 3 or 4 cups of water (depending how creamy you want it.) I love adding vanilla and some agave to the mylk. Maybe I'm just wierd but I like a little vanilla with my spinach ;)
But I forgot I usually add little hemp protein to it. Have to edit. Heh.

This is FREAKING good. I used spinach for the greens and made my own hemp mylk. We don't eat bananas any more but my wife swore it had bananas in it. THANKS for this recipe. And you are right it is SO a one person shake I only gave my wife a taste test and now I am in my office with a green mustache sipping in private..

To make your hemp milk did your use 1/4 hemp seed and 1 cup of water or did you buy the hemp mylk . I can't wait to try this as I have all the ingredients. I LOVE IT WHEN that happens.....

PEace and Blessings
