So I got out of yoga class at 9 PM and came home knowing that it was too late to gorge on the walnut "meatballs" uncooking in the dehydrator. What to do? The following shake is the beautiful baby that was born from my post-yogic brain. Enjoy it. Savor it. Cheers! Vegan Goddess

manz, thankx for the tip. i just ordered some stevia powder and am sooo excited to give it a go. i've been weaning myself off of splenda and am proud to say that i don't need it anymore. the more raw you are, the more you appreciate the natural sweeteners like agave and maple syrup, and you don't need much! a little goes a long way! i attribute this shift in flavor preference to the transition from high fructose corn syrup to natural fruit flavors of the raw diet. after all, rawies who drink fruit smoothies are balancing fruit sweetness with lush greens that are low in sugar and train our palates to appreciate natural sweetness in moderation : )

Hi Vegan Goddess, this sounds reeeally yummy! One thing though, Splenda is toxic! It is tri-chlorinated sucrose, which is like a chlorinated pesticide or PCB. It has been linked to enlarged liver and kidneys and decreased red blood cell count among many other things. I thought you'd want to know since, I'm assuming, you wouldn't be on this site if you didn't care a great deal about what goes into your body. Here's to your health! Take care.
