Flax Crackers
I like to serve this recipe with dips such as guacamole or salsa, but my favorite way to eat these is to top each cracker with a slice of avo spread like butter and a slice of tomato. These crackers serve as a great substitute for bread for me. I don’t crave bread at all as long as I can have these little beauties. This recipe is based on a recipe by Elaina Love, Pure Joy of Living Foods, but I have made a few changes.
4 cup Flax seeds (gold or brown), soaked 12 hours
1 cup almonds, soaked 12 hours
2 tomatoes medium size,
chopped
¾ cup Red Bell Pepper, chopped
¾ cup Celery, chopped
¾ cup Zuchinni, chopped
¾ cup Carrot,
chopped
½ onion, chopped
5 clove garlic, chopped
3 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 teaspoon celtic sea
salt
1 jalepeno pepper, chopped
Put the Flax seed in a large bowl and set aside. The remaining ingredients, put in the blender and blend until smooth. Pour into the flax seed and mix. Put in the dehydrator (preferably excalibur) using teflex sheets and spread the mixture all the way out to the sides. About 1/8th inch thick. Score with a spatula to form two inch squares. Dehydrate for 12 hours, turn over and dehydrate until crisp.

I just received my Excalibur today! I am hungry, I have been 98% RAW for 4 weeks now and I feel great! However I am hungry so I can't wait to get creative! I will try this out tonight. Thank you!

Today I made this recipe with this change and it was really great. I put 2 tsp of curry powder and a pinch of cayene instead of the Italian seasonings. I also put in the Jalepeno that Hleva sugested and it was wonderful!

I will have to try that. I love Jalepeno! I bet that would be good.

I made these yesterday, the only thing I added was one whole jalepeno pepper, seeds and all. These are delicious and I would definately make again. I was not able to score them, they were very goopy, so as a result, was not able to cut into neat squares after they were done. Next time I will cut them after they have set up a bit and then continue dehydrating them. Yummy!!!!!
