Decadent Cacao Truffles
Submitted by writeeternity on July 10, 2007 - 7:04pm
Servings:
Serves 2-4 Chocolate Lovers These are so good- if you are lame you will walk again, if you’re blind you’ll see… I was inspired by another recipe on this site- This is similar to the raw walnut brownies by Issy. Non raw people may become your disciples after eating these- Be prepared- buy a robe…
Ingredients:
½ cup raw macadamia nuts
¼ cup raw brazil nuts
5 dates, pitted
3 tablespoon 100% cacao cocoa
¼ cup fresh cherries
¼ cup other chips (optional)
½ cup raw coconut, grated
Preparation:
Grind Macadamias and brazil nuts in food processor. Add dates and blend. Then add cacao cocoa. Add half of coconut and cherries and pulse a couple of times.
Place into bowl and add other chips if you like- carob, white cacao(available on Alyssa Cohens site), or cacao.
Form into balls and roll in coconut. Enjoy!

Just made these. Easy...and soooo good. I didn't have cherries on hand, but I did have lots of fresh blueberries and made them with those. They came out fantastic. Thanks for the recipe!

Hi writeeternity,
can I just say that I love, love this description. I have copied this recipe into my recipe box. I always appreciate your recipes and all your thoughtful comments in the forum. Plus you always have so much technical info re nutrition. Thank you :) Dea.
ps. I make similar truffles only no nuts, I bet the nuts add a good texture. I add cashew nut butter to mine and goji berries. I will try your recipe soon and gather my chocolate disciples :))
