I experimenting with making some traveling foods. These turned out so good, that I don't think I can make them very often because I can't stay out of them! I didn't use measurements, because they aren't necessary and so that you can make as many as you want.

Ingredients:

raw almonds
Bragg's liquid aminos
nutritional yeast
sea salt

Preparation:

Soak as many almonds as you want to prepare in a mixture of 1/2 Braggs and 1/2 water, overnight.
Drain and then coat them heavily with the yeast. I had flakes, so I processed it into a powder first. Add a little salt and dehydrate until crunchy.
They have such a nice texture when they are finished, I am going to try some seeds next, since I really don't eat too many nuts. I was really trying it to see how it would turn out and I am very pleased!

I made these to take on a boat trip where I was out for 4 days. This time I added a little cayenne pepper because I have been growing cayenne peppers, drying and grinding them. The spice kick was good. I shared them with several of the crew they all loved them. I can eat 4 or 5 and then I am good to go. I also used brewer's yeast because it was all I had, it was easier because it is already ground fine.
If you haven't used Braggs before, yes, it is strong and kind of meaty in flavor the same way that soy sauce or worchestershire sauces are.

I like these. In fact, when I made them, I couldn't stop snacking on them. I think I may have added a bit too much salt, but that is easily corrected. Thank you for the recipe!

This was an ok recipe. The almonds had a beef jerky taste to me. This was my first time using Braggs so maybe that is the way it was suppose to taste. If you are craving that sort of flavor then you should give this a try. I wasnt really excitted about the flavor. I dont think I would like this as a stand alone snack, however if I were having a party and there were going to be other snack foods then this would go in the mix pretty well.
