When my Mom and I were at our local health food store, we saw these kale chips that were called "Quite Cheezee Kale Chips", and they were SO EXPENSIVE, but the best kale chips ever! So I took off the ingredients, and sort of made up my own version of the one at the store, and it tastes very close to the one we bought, but a lot cheaper.

Can I use the oven to make these? If so, low temp ? and for how long. I don't have a dehydrator but these sound soooooo goooood.

These were very, very good! I did just one bunch and big mistake. I know that I will finish them in two sittings. Already tasted them and I gotta say, yum! I have a little of the cheezze sauce left over and used it on my salad at lunch today. I think soaking the cashews might have made for a more smooth sauce but taste wise, it didn't make a big difference to me.
3. Soaking the cashews or not
Soaking the cashews or not probably doesn't matter for taste, but will make a difference for digestion. If your system is like mine, and has trouble with unsoaked nuts, then definitely soak them. I soaked when I made these, and they turned out fabulous!! Like everyone else, I could hardly wait for them to be done, and ate many in the different stages of dehydrating. The whole batch only lasted me two days, and it's just me eating them. YUM!!!

I think I ate half of the cheeze before I could get them into the dehydrator... so delicious! I used frozen corn instead of peppers and had to add a bit of olive oil and water to get the blender going... but they came out great! Thanks :)
5. Yum sis I love these!

Hi again Gratefultobe! Okay cool, thanks for letting me know! Glad that you like these =)

Ehh, I bet I just added an unnecessary step. They dont really swell like other seeds do and who cares if they get soft, that vitamix or fp is gonna pulverize them anyhow.
Everybody try these! I really used to think 'cheese flavored' chips or munchies were disgusting. Poison chemical crud I'm sure, but these rock.
LOL now I have another reason to buy more kale (morn. smoothie). I think I'm the only one who buys it at my store, ha and I usually get questioned about what I'm brewin' up. good stuff ;)
9. Hi Gratefultobe! Glad that
Hi Gratefultobe! Glad that you like them =) I know what you mean, they are my FAVORITE! 1 bag usually lasts 2 days in our house :-D No, I have not tried soaking them at all. Do you think that it works better that way? Let me know what you think :-)
10. These are just great! Another
These are just great! Another one of those 'wow, how can these be good for you?/forget the SAD chips forever!' type recipes. The first time I made these I soaked the cashews a couple of hrs. Did you just skip that? ps great fun to get your hands in there and really mush that coating in well. =)
