This is a great recipe for Fall. Tahini and maple syrup are a very unlikely, but absolutely heavenly, combination. I know maple syrup isn't technically raw, but it really adds to the flavor. I also feel like maple syrup is one of those non-raw ingredients (like nutritional yeast) that is accepted in raw recipes. The caramel sauce looks and tastes like a slightly nutty caramel, perfect for dipping apples in.
- 2 Mcintosh apples
- 1/3 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Simply mix the tahini and maple syrup together in a small bowl, you can adjust the ratio of maple syrup to tahini according to your taste. Slice up the apples, dip in the sauce and eat!
rawglow, it sounds really good. I'm always trying to incorporate more coconut oil in my diet but I need to avoid the flavor, tastes a little nasty to me.
I was just wondering today if there was a raw version of caramel apples. Glad to know there is. I'll be making this one REAL soon.
This sounds lovely. Will give it a go!
Sounds good!
Once I mixed creamy raw honey with some coconut oil (equal parts) and I was amazed how close to caramel it tasted. It would be great on apples as well!
Best Wishes,
