Servings:
serves 4This is a truly refreshing drink to have on a hot summer day—goes very well w/ spicy foods because it cools the palate and is very quick to make.
Ingredients:
2 lemons, juiced
2 pint purified water
2 basil leaves, chopped
raw
agave juice, to taste
4 ice cubes
Preparation:
Blend all ingredients except ice cubes until basil is blended in – don’t leave on high speed for too long or the drink will get hot (especially if using a Vitamix).
Add ice cubes last on
low speed and increase speed gradually until the ice is completely crushed but drink is still cold.
You may want to adjust number of lemons or amount of agave nectar to suit your taste. This is also good w/ a mint leaf or two thrown in at the beginning or added at the end for garnish.
