Recipe Directions

Ideally, the amount of greens should be about the same than fruit, but if you're new to green smoothies, you can start with less greens. The other fruit can be any you like, mango, orange, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, grapes (go especially well with avocado) etc. Red grapefruit and blue-green algae make a great breakfast smoothie if you like grapefruit...

Add more water depending on how juicy the fruit is and what consistency you like.

Instead of , or in addition to ice cubes, you can freeze some of the fruit, e.g. peeled banana, pineapple, mango, berries work well. Cut up the larger fruit up before freezing so your blender will cope better. If your blender is not super-strong, you could use crushed ice instead of ice cubes, or smaller frozen berries, like blueberries.

Blend everything until super smooth, adding water or juicier fruits for the kind of smoothie consistency you like.

Pour into tall regular or frozen plastic glass and enjoy!
