FREE ICE CREAM FREEZER If you haven’t an ice cream maker yet and want to try some good raw stuff, this is a simple way to make it with no investment. You probably have a friend or relative with the coffee cans if you don’t have any and just small ice from your freezer ice maker. I think you can use just cheapo table salt also instead of rock salt.
Ingredients:
1 small coffee can
1 large coffee can
rock salt
pieces of
ice
ice cream mixture
Preparation:
Take a small coffee can and fill it 3/4 full with your ice cream mixture. Put on plastic lid.
Put some ice and salt in the bottom of the larger can. Place the smaller can inside larger can.
Pack with ice and salt.
Put lid on larger can.
Sit on floor opposite your little one and roll the can back and forth to each other and in a short time you will have ice cream!!!!!!! And just wait til you see the wonderment in your little darling’s eyes when they see the ice cream.
You can sit and shake it if you don’t have a partner or roll it up an elevation and let it roll back down to you.

Small, science bit, I have tried this too but with plastic bags instead of coffee tins. The reason why you need the salt is that it lowers the temperature to below freezing therefore allowing the ice cream to freeze, otherwise the temperature does not get low enough. Tiny1 - I don't know about the plain old banana. It should work on any liquid ice cream mixture.
Karuna - The salt slows the melting of the ice giving the mixture time to freeze. Won't work without it.
