Servings:
Serves 1, double the portion if you want to get really hopped up!The ancient Olmecs and Mayans loved combining cacao and chili pepper in their sacred chocolate drinks, and sometimes they would even add honey or agave. I just attended a David Wolfe lecture in Seattle, and he says he loves the combination of cacao nibs/beans, honey and cayenne. So this is a tribute to Mr. Wolfe. Repeat the mantra: Cacao & Chili, Chili & Cacao.
Ingredients:
2½ tablespoon cacao nibs
1 teaspoon raw honey or agave (more to taste)
cayenne (to taste)
Preparation:
Mix the ingredients in a rice bowl. Sprinkle with extra cayenne, if you can stand it. Ideally, your lips should be humming with the heat of the cayenne!
