The ancient Olmecs and Mayans loved combining cacao and chili pepper in their sacred chocolate drinks, and sometimes they would even add honey or agave. I just attended a David Wolfe lecture in Seattle, and he says he loves the combination of cacao nibs/beans, honey and cayenne. So this is a tribute to Mr. Wolfe. Repeat the mantra: Cacao & Chili, Chili & Cacao.
2½ tablespoon cacao nibs
1 teaspoon raw honey or agave (more to taste)
cayenne (to taste)
Mix the ingredients in a rice bowl. Sprinkle with extra cayenne, if you can stand it. Ideally, your lips should be humming with the heat of the cayenne!
