I felt so sinful consuming these! They taste buttery, sweet, rich, and cacao-ic (tee hee). Make sure the flax is ground very fine, otherwise you won’t get the smooth texture. These donuts even help you out with getting your greens. Enjoy…
1 cup flaxseed, ground VERY fine
8 deglet noor dates, chopped finely by hand or in a food processor
1½ to 2 tablespoons cacao powder
2 tablespoon cacao butter (coconut oil works
too)
2 tablespoon or so raw, unfiltered, local, and humanely-harvested honey
¼ teaspoon Himalayan pink or other sea salt
¾ teaspoon Jamaican allspice powder,
(YUM!!!)
small amounts of any of your other favorite supplements (I used maca and dolomite)
1 teaspoon spirulina powder
Miz the wet ingredients in one bowl (dates, oil, honey) and the dry ingredients (flax, cacao, spirulina, salt, allspice, supplements) in another. Combine the two mixtures with your hands and knead into a a dough (you’ll probably want to add about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of water to get things to hold well). Form into holes and doughnuts with a cake pan, a cookie press, or your [insert religious figure here]-given utensils: hands! Chill for about 2 hours before serving. Will keep for up to a week in the freezer, though I doubt they’ll last that long…
