Chewy sesame cookies, yay! :o) I needed something sweet to take to school, since the candy machines have been calling to me lately. I just made these today, and didn’t measure… the measurements below are estimates, so taste before you dehydrate!!

Ingredients:

1½ cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoon raw honey (or agave, if you don't eat honey)
1 handful raisins
1 pinch salt
¼ cup sesame seeds

Preparation:

1. Grind walnuts, honey, raisins, and pinch of salt in a cuisinart until pasty. Taste, and add more honey if you like it sweeter.

2. Mix in sesame seeds.

3. Using a small ice cream scoop, or a measuring teaspoon, make the mixture into little mounds.

4. Dehydrate overnight.

5. To keep, I put mine in the freezer :o)

So delicious! I love them! My husband (not raw) just ate like 5 of them in a row.

These are good, but did anyone else find them to be a little greasy? After the first few hours of dehydrating, they seemed to be drying out some like they should. However, the longer I left them in the dehydrator, the softer and slicker they became. As a result, I took minibeast's advice and kept them in the freezer.

Thanks, glad someone else liked 'em :o) I actually think they'd be better with dates, spirited! I just don't keep dates around the house since they're so expensive... I usually have to resort to raisins. Let me know how it is if you try it out!

Hi again. I just made these for my boyfriend and rolled them in hazelnut meal. With the sesame seeds they have the texture and taste reminiscent of Fig Newtons. We just ate some right away without dehydrating- they were great!

This sounds great. I have all the ingredients but would have not thought to combine them in this way. Thanks! I also bought black sesame seeds and heard they are great for you. Thanks minib!

This would be yummy with pecans and dates, too! I would substitute agave for the honey, though.

These look awesome! I am making some stuff to take with us on vacation and these are definetely on the list! Do you think that it would work with dates instead of raisins? I have some I need to use up before we leave.
