Healthy version of this popular meal. Raw chips are the real thing!

Preparation:

For chips:

4 kohlrabis
1/2 cup of olive oil
2 teaspoons of turmeric
1 teaspoon of salt
Cut the kohlrabies into chips and put into a bowl. Pour with oil, sprinkle with turmeric and salt. Mix well. Leave to sit for at least 10 minutes. Then drain the excess oil and put the chips on paper napkins in order to get the excess oil out.

Ketchup:
3 tomatoes
3 pieces of sundried tomatoes (if you don’t have them doesn’t matter)
5 dates
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup of water
Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blend well.

Pretty tastey, I didn't have turmeric so I used cumin instead. I think I might use a bit less oil next time though. Thanks for the recipe! =]

Thanks rene, I actually googled kohlrabis and found out what they were and saw a picture. I went grocery shopping today and did not see them in the stores though. I went to two different stores. Although I did find a mighty good recipe for cocoa balls on your blog.....I am DEF. making those :)

Great idea! My bf makes the raw "fries" with sweet potato and dehydrates them with a crunchy batter. He loves kohlrabies though. I send this to him. I would love to get an authenic "English Pub Chip" raw recipe going! :)

Kohlrabis don't taste bitter. They must be fresh and juicy though. Older ones tend to go wooden and sometimes bitter.

I have never seen these done with kohlrabis! How wonderful. Are they bitter at all? They look divine. Thank you for your offering!
