Spicy Almond Spread

0

This is great as a dip for veggies, you favorite crackers, or spread on your favorite raw sandwich or wrap! I got the recipe from a lady my mom knows online who eats only mostly raw, so she uses it on her regular sandwiches, too.

Ingredients:

1 cup water
1 cup almonds
¾ cup olive oil
1 clove garlic, peeled
½ lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon pepper or other such seasoning
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper flakes

Preparation:

In food processor or good blender, blend almonds and water together until smooth. Add in everything else and blend until well combined.

Sorry – I don’t know how much it makes yet since I just got the recipe last night! I just wanted to share it because it looks sooooo yummy!

No, I did not know that Kaas was cheese in Dutch! I took it from Hindi - Khaas means special or unique and ladki means girl. ;-)

Khaas! Thank you , this is the first recipe I made from this site and it couldnt have been a better introduction x x x x x x x
I substituted the olive oil for lecithin to make it a no oil spread, which makes it much easier to digest. It is amazing !!!! And did you know that your name is very similar to kaas the dutch name for cheese, dont know what almond is in dutch though!

Hmm... sorry, I mentioned above that I hadn't got around to making it yet so I'm not sure! I think maybe a bit less olive oil and less water might work... maybe add just enough water to blend the almonds, then add more to reach a consistency you want.

We had this for dinner tonight and I just wondered if it's meant to be very runny - I followed the directions very carefully, was it like this for you? Still dip-able and tasty but not spreadable. I wondered if less olive oil would help.

Is there supposed to be two listings for olive oil or only one?
