Gone Raw: Moving Website

Gone Raw has experienced some exciting growth in the last few months and, as a result, life is getting rather slow here. This just won’t do at all! We will be moving the site to a new hosting account this week, which should help quite a bit.

We’ll keep you in touch as we go, but are likely planning the switch for Wednesday. We’ll do our best to alleviate interruptions to the site, but if you have an important event that you want to be sure to have a recipe for Wednesday to Friday, please consider printing it out in advance.

I really appreciate it kandace. I was planning on sharing some recipes later this week and didn’t want the site to be so slow that nobody could see them.

Just two more days, and I suppose it is because of the growth here!

Oh this is great!!! I noticed a tremendous slow-down and sometimes I couldn’t get on at all. It will be great to have easier access to all the recipes and forums. Thanks!!!

They have an innovative, user/host-friendly format, which lends itself to a smooth transition for popular sites such as this one. Thanks for the feedback. No, we’re not going to use Ning, but that’s a good suggestion. We prefer to “do it ourself,” even if it’s not as smooth as it could be. :)

We are most definitely moving the site tomorrow – Wednesday, July 9th – probably starting around Noon, Pacific Time. Expect the site to be unreachable the rest of the day. Thursday we’ll keep an eye on it, and try to iron out any kinks that come up.

No promises, but we’re pretty hopeful that it will be faster and better!!!
