Where can I find.....

I’m not sure if this is where this questions goes, but….I live in Ga and can’t find Kelp noodles anywhere. I am the only raw eater in the house, so a case is not an option. I don’t know where else to look, any suggestions? Thanks

Hey, I’ve been in the same boat as you, and it turns out our local health food store has just ordered them. You might be able to make a special request if you have a health food store you shop at, ours said people were asking so they put in the order. Good luck!

  • Thanks amysue. I actually found some, I’m so excited I feel like driving there right now. If the traffic wasn’t so bad, I would. can’t wait to make these. Thanks again.

  • i ordered a case online from sea tangle. oh my…amazing!

What exactly are kelp noodles? I have seen people posting about them before.

Are they just kelp made to look like noodles? I remember people saying they are crunchy>

I am wondering if I can make them myself. By buying regular kelp and soaking and slicing it to resemble noodles and than dehydrating it to make it crunchy? Hmmmm….. Might make an interesting pasta! :)

I”ve been wondering what they are like too.. do you soak them? can you substitute wakeme in recipes.. are they similiar enough?

They last forever when they’re dried. I think it’s worth buying in bulk even if it is just you. Most raw foodists love them. I get sea spaghetti from www.funkyraw.com

kelp noodles are awesome. they are crunchy but can become soft just like real noodles if soaked in water or any kind of marinade. they don’t have a strong taste, not fishy, just take on the taste of whatever they’re mixed with…in my experience they are not similar to wakame at all…similar to cooked glass bean noodles! just crunchy.

I’ve never thought about making them yourself, it must be possible, but the packaged kelp noodles are so inexpensive and perfectly noodle like lol
