when will the detox acne go away?

nycgrrlnycgrrl Raw Newbie

i started raw about 12 days ago, and my face is a mess! and my neck! (never thought that would happen). I haven’t had acne for 10 years, and I don’t welcome it’s return.

How long would you think this would last? I ate a fairly ‘healthy’ cooked diet before going raw, if that helps me.

  • It would help to get a colonic, your body wants to rid itself of any and all toxins and the skin is usually the first to take the hit. I went through this with my face breaking out every other day, after a colonic my face was as smooth and clear as a baby.

I’ve also been looking into the connection between the liver and the skin because every time I do something liver cleansing like eating dandelion or drinking the tea my temples break out. I’m 9 months along on the raw path so it could creep up again as you tweak your diet.

  • Late one night, I ran across this link looking for information on B-12.

It is called The Free Acne Book.

The author is pretty much refering people to eat a raw diet, but while doing so to avoid certain foods that might aggravate your skin. It was interesting.

I agree you will go through a period of detoxing and this a natural part of that process. Our family does go and receive colonic treatments. And I can definitely see more of a glow in my face after my treatment. However, this is not the case for my 9 yr. old daughter. So, three days ago, we started applying the Acne Book methods to her diet. My husband and I can already see a difference in her skin.

Same here, it sucks. I really want to get a colonic, but I don’t know how to find one! I’m in the Dallas, Texas area. Anybody know of anything?

I’m breaking out again too…a bit around my mouth, chin and cheeks. I don’t like it. I’m trying to stay positive…maybe a colonic would help me too…

    how do we do this??
