What You Ate Today

Hi,

I am trying to be more raw again (starting today!). I thought this would be a good place for people to record what they ate with links to recipes. So far (March 29th) I have had a bowl of fresh pineapple.

if you let them ripen until they look super over ripe, they are really nothing like tomatoes. much sweeter.

  • ZemphiraZemphira Raw Newbie

Breakfast: Green smoothie - handful of spinach, 1/2 blueberries, 1 Tbsp hemp seeds, 1 fozen banana, 2 dates, dulse, cinnamon.

    mid-morning snack: 1 large apple

  • Breakfast: a biiiiig juicy grapefruit and coffee (sorry, I don't wanna give it up!!)

Lunch: green smoothie (strawberries, banana, orange juice, spinach, cinnamon, ginger)

Dinner: cauliflower (chopped like rice) with tomato, asparagus guacamole (from this site) and shredded carrot....usually I have a salad but I'm running out of greens so I'm trying to use up my cauliflower before I go on a grocery run

Snack: Sunflower seed, almond, and raisin trail mix

  • Breakfast: Big fruit salad (1 apple, 1 orange, 1 kiwi, 1 banana, 1/2 mango, few strawberries) topped with 1 cup walnut milk.

Lunch: Big green smoothie (frozen mango, mixed berries, 1/2 banana, 1 orange juiced, 2 cups mixed greens, 1.5 cups water).

Breakfast: Large handful of blueberries, 4 large strawberries, and 16 oz of green juice (kale, apple, celery, and lemon).

    Snack: 2 medium bananas.

Lunch: A large salad (romaine and boston red lettuce, radish, avocado, cucumber, leek, peas, grape tomatoes, green olives, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, flaxseed oil).

Snack: Large handful of macadamia nuts.

Dinner: A lovely organic mango and a few medjool dates.

Throughout the day I drink 1-2 quarts of water (helps to drink the 1st quart of water an hour or two before you have breakfast).

  • i don't really like greens, parsley, not to my taste. i'm a leaning fruitarian, although I do like some romaine every now and then, but i can go a month easily without them.

  • Breakfast: 1 sapote, 2 small tangerines, tulsi tea

mid-morning snack: green smoothie!! i juiced some ginger and an apple and then threw in the blender lots of collard greens, baby mixed greens, and some frozen banana. sooo yummy!

lunch: kombucha, apple, and lotus root chips

dinner: thai salad from everyday raw, spring rolls with tamarind sauce from entertaining in the raw. both amazing recipes.

dessert: tomberlies ice cream and a raw brownie!

  • Breakfast: I plantain, 1 apple, kale smoothie!

Lunch: 2 yellow mangoes, an apple, a lot of dates

Dinner: Kelp noodles with carrots, beets, purple cabbage, and the sesame noodle sauce from this site. It was awesome!

Post dinner snack: 1 apple, 1/2 a raw chocolate bar

    What a yummy day!

Kevin, do you feel you get your full nutrition from fruits? I am curious, as I definitely notice a difference in energy when I have not been getting my greens. Where do you get your iron, calcium, vitamin K?

Breakfast - Coffee, Large Green Smoothie (about 5 cups - which I sipped throughout the day - peaches, two large handfuls baby spinach)

Grazed all day - 2 apples, a few handuls of cashews, flax crackers, banana, 1/2 cucumber and fresh dill

Right now I am sipping on wine.

Trying not to eat after dark and I am enjoying grazing all day - I don't think that 15 minutes went by when I wasn't sipping or eating something!

  • April 1, 2009

    Grazed all day:

    2 coffees

6 cups green smoothie (pears and kale)

    apple

    banana

    flax crackers

    several handfuls cashews

    1/2 cucumber with dill

1 cup of green smoothie that I prepared for tomorrow (3 bananas, bunch of swiss chard, 1/2 pint raspberries)

I think that I am eating too many nurs and but I think that everything will balance out. The green smoothies are really filling me up and I have no cravings at all!

Congratulations!!! You successfully ate from the "classic" 4 food groups... fat, sugar, caffeine, and salt! lol

  • Kungpao, is that all you ate today???

    Today I had:

Smoothie: 1/2 cantaloupe , orange, banana, spinach, bok choy

    3 bananas

    mango/strawberry fruit salad

    150 grams figs

    crackers (http://goneraw.com/recipe/italian-flax-crackers)

wraps: romaine filled with zuchinni hummus (http://goneraw.com/node/8700) tomatoes, avocado, sprouts

    applesauce

  • Indeed! I need motivation constantly. That is one reason I am here!

  • bittbitt Raw Newbie

i am glad to see i'm not the only one who doesn't eat much at night. today was a weird food day for me but i'll post anyhow:

    2 pieces raw chocolate

green smoothie (larger than normal): chard, banana, mango, coconut oil, hemp powder

(this was for lunch and breakfast)

then I got hungrier and there wasn't any ripe bananas in the cafeteria and i hadn't packed much so I had a pasteurized OJ which tasted bland.

2 apples later on at about 2pm

later on 2 cherry lara bars, a green juice of chard/celery/cucumber, 2 pieces of raw chocolate

    4 bananas for dinner

This isn't quite how it was spaced but you get the idea. I've been having some digestive upset and the usual salad is NOT appealing to me. It could have been some cooked lentil soup I had the other day. I'm off that now.

  • It is so interesting to see what everyone eats daily - I hope we keep up this thread!

Breakfast - Water! (not too hungry in the mornings typically)

Lunch - three cups of green juice (cucumber, carrot, kale, celery and ginger)

zucchini pasta with a raw pesto sauce

    Dinner - Apple

lentils and chickpeas with raw tomato, parsley and onion

Late Night - three cups of green juice (same as above)

  • CarnapCarnap Raw Newbie

    2 bananas

    2 apples

some successes, some failures! I wanna know what people do when they have that "shit I've had a long day and I just need to shove alcohol and food down may face" feeling. Tips?

  • have_merseyhave_mersey Raw Newbie

Breakfast: Beet-Carrot-Apple salad (All grated) and some Bee Pollen.

    Munching: About 7 cacao beans

    Lunch: Mango Smoothie.

Obviously there is alot of water in between, and a cup of green tea. :)

Dinner: Will be Broccoli juice with whatever other juiceable greens I have around (Probably meaning a bit of kale, cuccumber, celery), and some spirulina. :) I Looove greens.

  • have_merseyhave_mersey Raw Newbie

I usually have some pre-prepared things lying around for those kind of nights. :) Also, as the other bad foods are reduced, so is the "shit I've had a long day and I just need to shove alcohol and food down may face" feeling. Otherwise, cacao and/or tea get rid of my stressed, and worn-down-ness..

I love this thread!! I love hearing how everyone's diet shifts and what good things they are eating.

  • joannabananajoannabanana Raw Newbie

maryssa, i usually don't have enough bad food in the house (besides my family's food) so i'm not too tempted. i used to eat SOO many nuts so i don't buy them anymore. my main foods i love to eat are dates and bananas. i don't feel that bad about it after though.

breakfast: 4 medjool dates, 2 bananas, 1/4 cup raspberries, and 1/2 cup grapes in a bowl.

don't know about lunch yet. it will hopefully be an avocado roll if the grocery store sushi bar made any today.

  • FeeFee Raw Master

Today I had apple, plum and pear chopped up together for breakfast. Lunch was saukraut, cucumber, small amount of kale and avocado stuffed portabello mushroom. Dinner was raw pizza followed by raw apple pie which I shared with my non-raw partner who had second helpings. I also snacked on dates and onions (I was making onion bread) during the day.

  • Fee - Where did you get your raw pizza and raw apple pie recipes? :)
